Low Blood Pressure Apparently Causing Me to Feel Bad

Posted by SusanEllen66 @SusanEllen66, Jun 12, 2023

I’ve been having waves of feeling like I’m going to pass out. It’s been going on for a few months.
Today I decided to take my blood pressure while I was feeling bad. It was 117/59. Five minutes later 113/54 Five minutes after that, 106/65.

During that time my heart rate was normal at 76, and oxygen level was 98%. My EKG showed a sinus rhythm.

I would say 106/65 is low. I don’t take any heart medication so I’m not sure what is going on.

I’m having trouble with my sleeping and am doing a sleep study this week.

How does someone raise their blood pressure?

I have a friend,
When she does get up
Her blood pressure drop
Her doctor knows she does have heart problems
She lives alone
I check on her
You seem to be getting by and moving swimming
That’s great
Hope all’s goes well

@SusanEllen66 I had the same problem this past year. Upon standing my BP may drop to 88/50. I would be dizzy and unsteady when up. I had to stop for a minute or two before trying to walk anywhere. Cardio Dr. put me on an Rx (three times a day) that keeps my BP up during waking hours. Now after a few months, the side effects were not helping me retain fluids and gain weight. This I need to do. I am trying to recoup from surgery on 5/19. So for now, I am stopping the Rx but my BP seems to be staying up. I do my neck, and leg exercises beside walking up our big barn and back. This seems to keep my BP from becoming too low. I hope this helps. KLH
