Have had multiple pulmonary embolisms. Looking for others to support and be supported.

I'm so sorry you've experienced more than one Pulmonary embolism. Not only are they scary, but each one adds more damage to your body.
I had a motorcycle accident 2 years ago and fractured my ankle. Being non-weight bearing with no anticoagulants on board resulted in a Right Lower Lobe Pulmonary embolism for which I was placed on Eliquis x 6 months and then had a repeat scan which showed the embolism had been resolved. Unfortunately, once you've had one...as you probably know, you're forever susceptible to having more.
What caused your embolisms and are you currently on medical treatment?

The last two were provoked with a surgery and another procedure. This last one, I have no clue. Double dosing of Eliquis currently and will always be on the med now.
Did you know you had a clot in your leg? Im familiar with having DVTs but the last two PEs, they didn't know where the clots came from.
Are you using any blood thinners?

The pain on my right posterior lower lung base upon inspiration while waking one morning exactly one week after the accident alerted me to the possibility of a PE, because all of my injuries from the accident were on the left side of my body. I recognized the symptoms and already had a f/u with my Ortho that same day. He didn't believe me initially when I described the symptoms of shortness of breath and pain and I even pointed to the spot. He wanted to test for kidney issues but I held out for a CT scan which was positive and the clot was exactly where I touched it. I found another Ortho MD that same day from my hospital bed. Even though the ankle fracture was a closed break, the edema and non weight bearing status were contributing factors. After my 6 months of Eliquis and the repeat CT scan, I have not had another PE..so am not on any blood thinners.
Unfortunately, we both may experience more clots in our lifetime, hopefully the Eliquis will prevent another one for you.

I had one about 3 months ago. I do have cancer(multiple myeloma) mine started in my leer leg. Had 3 clots total one in calve one in groin and a pe in the right lung. Mine could be caused by cancer or the meds im on. I’m currently on xrelto. Clots are gone but I’m guessing I’ll be on thinners until im off the meds and cancer gets better.

I had a hip replacement, while home following surgery. I had chest pain, but not very severe. Nurse thought I should have an MRI. I did and it reported a lung embolism. I was hospitalized, shots in the stomach for about a week and then home on baby aspirin. I am still on baby aspirin and will be the rest of my life, but fortunately no other embolisms (I am 92). We tried Eliquis but I woke at 2 in the morning and my nose had bled enough it was all over the floor. It was decided to stop Eiquis and have not taken it since. It has been about 15 years since

All s clots still pleasant and I’ve grown an other one! So 6 more months on the blood thinner pradaxa and then I have another ct scan. Have been threatened with warfarin or another starting with c I can’t remember which is daily injections
