Long Covid Fatigue - Exhausting Physically and Mentally
It’s been 14mo. Dealing with Fatigue and migraines. Daily naps help but looking for an explanation on what is going on in my body. Up til now all the Dr. Said it was too early to tell. Today I read The NY Times article’ How Long Covid Exhausts the Body’ by Josh Keller (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/02/19/science/long-covid-causes.html) and for the first time got some explanations on what maybe causing this. Although it is only the beginning of understanding what this virus is capable of, at least it is a start. Very insightful!! Worth reading.

Not scientific but most folks I've seen on this LC forum have been vaccinated. Just saying.
How does the vaccine theory explain getting LC well before there were COVID Vaccines? (For me 09/2020...)
I'm not implying everyone with LC was vaccinated. Just an observation that most have been from what I've observed.
It doesn't.I know I didn't get sick from a vaccine(moderna).I had covid a few months before that came out.AND was VERY SICK.
My second infection I didn't even know I had it again.I was in there for pnuemonia, brochitus,Straightened out with antibiotics though.Had shingles a month or so before thatLOL.NEVER have I had these things in 71 years;)God Bless ALL struggling with this beatable thing.
My frustration is that I never got sick/colds/flu nothing etc. for over 30 years. I got the pfizer vaccine and got covid 4x plus have had 2 bad colds this year on top of LC for almost 2 years.
Hello, Yes i too was against getting the vaccine but my cousin passed away from covid, he was only 57 and healthy, him and his brother both got covid they went on a trip to Wisconsin, his brother did get the vaccine his covid wasnt so bad mild fever for a few days but not so much for his brother . He had worse symptoms he had a fever also and discomfort in his chest. he waited a few days before he went to see his doctor. when he went to see his doctor and had a xray ,his doctor told him he needs to go to the hospital asap . Turns out he had pneumonia from covid . Like me his o2 went very low as well. He was on o2 machine also , i didn't talk to him but i did text him he said he was feeling a lot better he said they had to take a "air pocket "out of his lung, i believe. Anyway he died two days later his o2 went down so low his organs failed, it was a major shock to us all and played a huge part of my mental state when i got covid months latter as i explained in my prior comment. I got the vaccine the day after his death, and still got covid very bad and was told by some it may have been worse had i not got the vaccine. Who knows for sure, all i do know is since than i have not been physically or mentally the same. i hope someone can help me soon. Thanks again all of you.
You got Covid four times? Did you keep up with boosters? The effects of vaccinations wane after about six months.
The vaccine doesn't necessarily prevent you from catching Covid, although it does lessen the chances of that. It primarily prevents the disease from making you extremely sick, as in needing hospitalization.
My suspicion in your case, since you previously had an enviable immune system apparently, is that Covid itself likely affected your super-power, not likely the vaccine.
Totally sucks, I know.
I didn't catch Covid until just over a year ago. I stayed on top of all my boosters. The acute case I had was quite mild, but, lucky me, developed into LC.
(The best-laid plans of mice and men...)
I had the first 2 shots with boosters but didn't take any after that. Every successive bout of covid I has was milder - the last bout was almost zero symptoms. I've read the latest strain or one before it was believed to cause more cases of LC - weird because it was milder.
Me too.
I've experienced long-COVID since June 2020. Pharmacies didn't release COVID vaccines until eight months later.
