Trying to understand the results of my knee xray
I know we are not doctors but I was wondering if anyone had knee xrays and got this result: The compartments are well-preserved.
No knee joint effusions.
Right-sided 8.5 mm mineralization overlying the posterior tibial plateau, likely represents an osteophyte and less likely may be an intra-articular osseous body.
IMPRESSION:
No acute radiographic osseous or articular abnormality.
The rheumy says my xrays are fine. I have a lot of pain in my knees that at times I can't even rest them on the mattress.

@when my psoriatic arthritis kicks up i have all the pain and more. xrays showed huge inflammation but nothing else. i wonder if this amount of inflammation will not allow any other problems to show, pain the knee or knees is as bad as you say and maybe even more. there is no way to ease the pain. must suffer until. to me, it seems the knee pain is worse than the foot, hip, elbow or whatever. sorry for your suffering. with care peach
Hi @lisabeans,
Autoimmune conditions can be difficult to diagnose or to pinpoint the exact cause; I'm tagging @JustinMcClanahan, moderator for the Bones, Joints & Muscles group on Connect, as he may perhaps have more insight about members who may be familiar with your diagnosis.
In the meantime, you may also wish to view some of these other discussions on knee pain:

Thanks. I am going Wednesday for a third opinion. I really want to figure out what is going on so it can be treated properly.
That's great, @lisabeans,
Please let us know the outcome of your appointment.
Yes, I will.
