Is there a supplement that really works?
I was diagnosed 6 years ago with osteoporosis. I thought I was doing everything possible to build bone density but my latest bone density showed it got worse by 6%. I am taking a supplement called ‘bone-up’ which is supposed to be natural and has StimuCal. I’m wondering if there are better supplements out there that really help? Has anyone seen positive bone density results? If so, I would love to know what you are taking and doing. By the way, I’m 65, and try to be fairly active. Thank you.

I have started taking supplements from Healthy Bones Co. It will be a while before I have another DEXA scan. Many ladies reviewed that this brand improved their bone density, here’s hoping. I am too scared to try another bone med. I tried teriparatide and fainted after each injection! After that happened they said oh yes, that happens to some people. You can read their website and I listened to a webinar recently and they seem to be very reputable and careful in sourcing the ingredients. Also made in the USA and the only ingredients they buy come from Germany which has very high standards.

I cannot find the research links on his site.
I must have seen the research when I took the webinar. He gave the 850 who watched this webinar a copy of what was covered. I believe the links were there but I only had access to the webinar for 48 hours or so after so it is now gone. Sorry I can’t provide that. Perhaps if you send them a message through the website they can send something to you. I asked a few questions and got good answers in a day or so.
I have gone from a diagnosis of osteoporosis to "normal" bone readings and normal bone quality (TBS) in my femoral area, which is the hardest area to change.
I used all the "usual suspects" of bone health including weight bearing exercise plus I included strontium citrate,680mg daily, and Bhrt, bioidentical hormones. I have never fractured and have no side effects.
One great thing about strontium citrate as compared to osteoporosis drugs is that you may go on and off it without concerns for follow up drugs or rebound fractures etc. It is an earth mineral similar to calcium just denser and able to bridge gaps in osteoporic bones which then allows calcium to adhere.

1 ReactionCould you please tell me what brand of strontium citrate you used and what were the interval periods of on and off. I'm currently taking a one month break from the Grow Bones System, but wonder if that's enough.
@auntieoakley I can seem to find natural bounty supplements, could it be natures bounty? That is what pops up every time I search. If not, where to you find natural bounty? Thanks Rae

There is no on and off to strontium; think of it like calcium you need it every day.
360 mg strontium citrate every night.
After you reach normal bone density and bone quality then the research says that a half dose is appropriate.
Check with the research and your doctor.
@raeking: I just purchased Natures Bounty at our local Walmart. Hope you find what you’re looking for. Good health to you!

I have just joined this group. I have been taking Fosamax (teraperatide) for 18 months. My first band was -5.8 at the spine, -3.2 at hips. I was started on a pill that didn't help and then started on Fosamax after 2 fx. I will move to Prolia in next 6 months but want to nitrate off the medication. Has anyone here done that and if so what was your titration plan
