Has anyone experienced internal vibrations?

Posted by redladyjoni @redladyjoni, Nov 26, 2018

I started having the only way I can explain it is internal vibrations. I've had them for 3 months now, I went to t hihe ER and they told me it was anxiety. A doctor diagnosed me at a clinic as having Lyme disease I've started a 21-day prescription of Doxycycline I'm on day 7. I went to a psychiatrist a week ago to get something because of my nerves are just over the brink. He prescribed me Gabapentin and Valium I've only been on them a few days.
Has anyone experienced these internal vibrations?I have them almost 24/7 chest neck stomach from the hips down. I have more lab tests that should be in today, but the doctor's office said that they would not call unless there was some abnormality in the lab work.

I had internal vibrations. My hips would vibrate. I thought it was my phone on vibrate in my pant pocket. I looked to my right and observed my phone. It was not in my pant pocket. This happened a lot. I was subsequently diagnosed with Essential Tremors due to obvious shakes in my hands. Is it related or a precursor I do not know. I was put on Primidone for the tremors. Everything appears to have settled down. Very frustrating to say the least.

Hey, sounds similar for sure. Have you had Covid or another illness in the recent past, or any other trauma?

I’m down to 1x300 gab per day now for a while and I’m doing great. 98% back to normal, and very thankful. If I have a tough day and only get 2-4 hours of sleep, I’ll often get some breakthrough facilitations but never (thank God) any of the insane internal vibrations that I had at my onset and peak. Even my Raynaud’s is almost gone completely.

Talk to your doc if you want to try 3x300 or 2x400 or something. If they say good to go then you can definitely try that. Other than that, try to exercise and get good sleep.

Best of luck healing.

@novajeff Hi, no I haven’t had any recent trauma or illness that I can think of. Spine MRIs came back clean. Just finished my 2nd EMG, but will wait to hear from the doctor. The main thing I’m experiencing at the moment is facilitations in both legs and heavy spasms in my left elbow. I also get this weird sore ish sensation in the area between my thumb and index finger in both arms, as if I had carpal tunnel. But I know I don’t. Sadly I upped the dosage of gabapentin to 3x300 MG a day but I feel like it’s not working anymore. At first I could sleep fine but now I got the vibrations back again when I try to sleep. In addition to the vibrations did you also ever experience your hands/feet going numb when trying to fall asleep?

Still shocks me how similar symptoms are with this from person to person. I also had the hand pain. It was disturbing. I also had the very easily falling sleep arms. It caused me to clench my elbows in my sleep and it would pinch my ulnar nerve and I’d wake up with an absolutely dead rubber chicken arm.

Thankfully the hands are 90% resolved and the ulnar sensitivity is gone.

I have NO IDEA what that internal vibration is but I'm so glad to see some others have had this experience. For awhile I thought there was a short in the electrical outlet behind the head of my bed, which is butted right up against it. I jumped out of bed and pulled it away from the wall - to no avail. Those little electrical-like impulses still show up at night, from time to time. Not particularly "Good Vibrations" I'm afraid.
I do also have fibromyalgia.

@milz I have those vibrations are there I think they're called tremors a mine has been since I started taking pregabalin after my doctor changed me off Gabapentin for my diabetic neuropathy pain I'm having other side effects from pretty gambling and interactions I guess you would say or night sweats and my neuropathy is spreading to my upper body or have I believe I've been told by my doctor that place on my ribs and back is a common place for neuropathy

Yes yes yes. My psych nurse said it could be my medication. I have not seen the doctor yet but have a physical coming up. I call them internal tremors or quivers. Mine comes in spurts. I'll get them for a few weeks then go months without them then they come back again. I was worried it was a seizure thing. Because it happens so little I never think to ask my doctor when I see her. I hope you get it figured out.

Unfortunately, for women, perimenopause and menopause come with a host of symptoms that most doctors are unaware of or don't take seriously. I had all the expensive tests since I have tingling, legs aching, and internal vibrations, which were ruled out for other conditions. I was diagnosed with essential tremors (my dad had it). For me, it feels like my cell phone is buzzing. It doesn't happen very often, but it only happens in my hip and upper leg. I am assuming it is part of menopause for me. I am 54. Healthy living does help, so it involves eating anti-inflammatory foods, exercising regularly, maintaining a balanced diet, getting adequate sleep, and practicing effective stress management. Stress management is a big one. I feel like I need to be perfect in my wellness just to feel like I used to when I was younger. It is a lot of work, so far it has been worth it. I recognize the connection between symptoms and the healthy activities I now need to engage in.
