How to interpret your CAC score
I don't know this physician, but know of him and his own history with carbohydrate addiction (he calls himself the carb addiction doc). is name is Dr. Rob Cywes, a South African expat now practicing in FL.

@gloaming - Thanks much. I'm seeing some very disturbing info about him online.
But...while I'm at it, let me just thank you for the info you provide on this forum. You have a unique ability to explain and give thorough answers that a lay person can understand.
Here's a separate but related question: for someone who wants to understand Afib, cholesterol, and all of the basics about heart medical terminology, is there something like a "Heart Health for Dummies" that would be a good source from which to learn?
@justlucky Everyone with an online presence/influencer/profile has his/her critics. Put three people in a room, selected at random, and they'll disagree at least half the time. Cywes is blunt, and his appearance and demeanor make him sound and look surly...angry, uncompromising, unsympathetic, and rigid. Maybe he is a bit of the zealot, but you can't accuse him of being uneducated (two PhDs) or inexperienced as someone who talks the talk but doesn't walk it. He does, and has done, both in spades. Once you get to know him over time, I think most people appreciate his knowledge, his sincerity, and his stick-to-it-iveness. As a recovering carb addict, once seriously overweight and ill, he had to come off his own high horse, intellect and self-discipline notwithstanding, and accept that he was weak and that he was killing himself by being self-indulgent. He admits this, and like all recovering addicts, he sometimes gets cranky, wide-eyed, and loud about absolutes...like not going back...ever. I think his delivery can possibly be off-putting. He has put me off once or twice, but I keep going back. 😀
Thanks for your kind remark about my contributions. I can always use affirmation to keep me going, and I know I have to accept some kicks in the backside when they are deserved...which I have received here and elsewhere once or twice.
Honestly, I haven't gone looking for a Dummy, one 'n done, source to get me up to speed. I have been reading scads of documents from NIH, BMJ, ACA, JAMA, Canadian Cardiology, British sources, and watched many videos by many different people professing to be expert in their fields. It is from this wide variety that I have also been exposed to naysayers, detractors, distractors, critics, critiques, and to absolutely contradictory claims about the same phenomena.
With a quick look for such a source, here is what I can suggest, but I have not perused them or vetted them for congruity with what I understand or have accepted as factual:
