How did you get through after getting covid-19?

Posted by echo2022 @echo2022, Jul 24, 2022

Hey, unfortunately, my test showed two lines, positive after starting have a fever from three days ago. I just got one shot of vaccine on February because I've had abnormal bleeding for several months, so I didn't get the second shot.
I'm very scared now. Having a fever for three days, 110.1 temperature, and coughing heavier. Do you have any experiences to deal with it? Can we take that covid medicine?

@echo2022, I'm breathing a sigh of relief because you were able to make contact with your PCD!
As for the question about Remdesivir - your PCD should contact the transplant team if there is any question. Please ask about how it could affect your immunosuppressant meds. And what kind of follow-up you might need.

Hope you feel better soon 🤍

Hi echo2022, Despite precautions, both vaccines & a booster, Covid caught up with me late April. As I am 82 ,high risk ( respiratory issues), my Dr put me on Paxlovid immediately & steroid, then Zithromax a few days later when cough got worse. No fever. It Took me 2 weeks at home to tést neg. & start to feel normal. Not real sick, just tired, weak, & the cough until the antibiotic won, not real interested in TV, reading, just letting hours pass vegetating without even feeling bored. Lots of sleeping. Once I did some dishes and needed a 2 - hour nap. Weird.
I hope yours does not develop into something more miserable than it is now,
Have you/ will you see a doctor?( I hope). Not something you want to play around with on your own.
Are you sure you wrote your temp corréctly- 110!!? At that temp. I don’t think
you’d be writing - or anything else.

All the best,DBG

I probably wrote wrongly, 101.1?

@echo2022, I hope that tomorrow goes smoothly for you. It sounds like you will get 1 shot of the Bebtelovimab.
I suggest that you write down your questions and take it with you tomorrow. Check that you get a phone number where you can call 24/7 if you have any complications or questions. Take a list of your medications, too. All of us in this discussion are patients, and the experts at the infusion center should be able to explain the details to you.
Is someone going to go along with you?

I only know 911 that I can call 24/7. Do you get the number from your doctors?
Nobody can go along with me especially it's a risk to others, but I'll ask a friend to be my translator if there isn't the service.

I also called Keck according to the number on the specialist's business card. A nurse said my specialist wasn't in the office today and she already left a message to the specialist's nurse. They may respond me when they see it.
