Hello, new to the group

Hello, new to the group. Will be back up to the clinic 23 & 24th. Always love visiting but wish it was not for negative health issues.

Hi @user_dmg0724
Welcome to Connect. I'm Colleen, the new Community Director here. What are the health issues that have you returning to the clinic later this month?

PS: It feels kind of odd calling you @user_dmg0724. Would you like to change your display name to something more representative of you? If yes, just follow these steps:
1. Click on your picture, which will take you to your profile page.
2. Then click "Update my display name, password, or add additional email addresses to my account" in the bulleted list.
3. Change your Display Name.
You may have to sign in again to see your new display name.

Hey @user_dawn,
Thanks for changing your display name. It feels better to connect to a person with a name or nickname rather than a randomly assigned number. I might encourage you to even drop the "user_" part too.

Was it difficult to change your display name? I ask because we're working in the background to dramatically improve the website and make it easier to use. You'll see more changes in the coming weeks that I hope you'll like. Feedback will be most welcome as we roll the improvements out.

I'm going to pop over to the other thread where you talk more about your diagnosis https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/does-anyone-have-any-information-on-low-renin-hypertension/?pg=1#post-215009

Hello, I am relatively new to the groups, though have read some inspiring things from folk. So Hello. I have been recommended 'Pain Clinic' due to chronic low back pain, originally being treated for Auto immune disease but has since been changed to Degenerative Disc disease. Although I am happier to NOT have one disease I don't know much about pain clinics and fear it can lead to operations when I first want to understand my new position. I follow physio therapy and swimming and walking for more than a year now, good diet, not over weight. Any tips on what to expect at a pain clinic. Much appreciated. Tks. Best wishes one n all.

Hi kayelle. It is great to hear that you have found some inspiration for other members on Connect as that is one of the best things that can happen in a community. I also like your attitude on staying active and doing all you can on your own.

You may find this conversation happening in the Chronic Pain group helpful. It is centered around the Pain Rehabilitation Clinic, http://mayocl.in/2hj0DBM. I hope you find some answers and other members to Connect with in that discussion to address some of your concerns.
