Help Mayo improve a legacy project for people with serious illness
Are you living with a serious illness and receiving palliative or supportive care? Researchers at Mayo Clinic Rochester are looking for people like you to share your thoughts on a new project. We want to make sure our legacy-based program truly supports dignity, meaning, and connection for patients and their families.
What’s This About?
We’re creating a program where people can make short legacy films about their life stories, values, and hopes for loved ones. Your feedback will help us design this project in a way that feels meaningful and respectful.
Who Can Join?
- Adults (18+) living with a serious illness
- People who are receiving or have received palliative or supportive care
- You do not need to be a Mayo Clinic patient
What Will You Do?
- Take part in a short virtual meeting (30–45 minutes) on Zoom with a researcher
- Share your thoughts and experiences
- Give feedback on things like the tone, format, visuals, and music for the legacy project
- Help us make this project as helpful and supportive as possible
Other Details
- This is a voluntary role (no payment)
- We are looking for 20 volunteers
- Your feedback is informal and just to help us learn
Principal Investigator: Dr. Juan Pablo Brito, Knowledge and Evaluation Research (KER) Unit, Mayo Clinic

2 ReactionsI would love to join but my inoperable brain tumor rx has left me with speech , swallowing & hearing problems ( besides the washing bin of all physical & emotional cancer issues).
I think this is a wonderful project. I have been a nurse for many years and ran toward helping my patients make their last steps. Yet my family has no idea of my feelings or what I am thinking. Too busy with their own lives & family. I understand & do my best to help but it will have to end soon.
I am a big advocate of support groups. I think your project is exceptional.
Many Blessings working on your much needed project .
If I could help in any way give a shout out.
