Foot neuropathy: What gives you relief?
It seems if I get enough activity/exercise daily I don’t have pain; if not, am awakened from sleep and must get up (even in the middle of the night). What’s going on & what more should I do to avoid rest-disruption?

Just an update... lidocain cream: no help, menthol type cream: no help, phenol: no help. Just tried epsom salt with tee tree oil foot bath: holy hannah, that agitated it and made it worse. I tried using a massager on it, that kind of helped. Just wrapped it with an ice wrap, I'll see if that helps. I'll update this post (if it will let me) adding a picture of where these electric type shots hit my foot. But again, once they start it pulses every 10-15 seconds all night. There's no sleeping until I just pass out for 4 hours roughly

1 ReactionIt won't let Me edit, so update, the ice worked. Allthough I started with a gel ice wrap. This works for about an hour, and. Then it gets warm. Upgraded to one of those hard blue ice freez packs. I put on a sock and tied it to the top of my foot. Not a real good fit cits hard and stiff. But it did the trick, I was able to sleep from about 1 am until 8 am. I'm very pleased with this so far. Now if I could just find a curved icy. As the gels just thaw out to fast. I may repost this in a new string later as I'd like to et more people see it.

1 ReactionI started taking super beets gummies daily. It has helped to reduce. Its also reduced restless leg syndrome. If its bad, I use a weighted blanket.

If you do see a neurologist they will probably perform tests to see if they can find the cause of your neuropathy. I have neuropathy and am not diabetic nor am I alcoholic and I never had chemotherapy.. After being tested for autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, my neurologist tested me for celiac disease and that is the reason why I have neuropathy. No medicine, no surgery needed but I must remain on a gluten-free diet for the rest of my life. I have made the adjustments. I do not have digestive issues like some celiacs do, but I must make sure that I am getting good nutrition and in particular certain vitamins. I did go to PT last summer and I did get some help but I never really had bad neuropathic pain to begin with. I am now using Wise Men Healing Balm for another nerve problem on my shin which is healing. I do take magnesium glycinate at night as it helps me to sleep. It is nice to know that you are healthy. Neuorpathy is not the end of the world
I came across your post and it was so similar to my peripheral neuropathy in my feet.
Did you find anything that helped which I could try.

Up most nights from 12 - 3. Got off Gabipentin. Help no sleep is killing me
@eddiestella1 I have been using both an Anodyne red light therapy device and a Rebuilder tens unit for about 8 months now with ~50% increase in sensation in the bottom of my feet.
I have an extra tens unit if you are interested in purchasing one.

I found relief for my burning feet on Amazon. Just type in “ ice socks” & you’ll see a variety of socks with gel packs in them. I keep 4 pair in the freezer.
I usually change them out 2-3x a night after they thaw, but it really helps. I hope this helps you & gives you relief. It’s impossible to get to sleep when your feet feel like they’re on fire. God luck.
Welcome @goose2828, I'm really sorry to hear that you are not getting much sleep at night. The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has some suggestions for sleeping that might be helpful - https://www.foundationforpn.org/lifestyles/managing-coping-with-neuropathy/.
You mentioned you got off of gabapentin. Did you start a different medication for neuropathy pain?
I saw something about “itching” on here for the first time & now can’t find it! I’ve been very curious & first time I’ve seen it mentioned. Lots of severe itching on upper torso, under arms, etc. This is new for me?! What’s next?! Any thoughts or suggestions?!
