The classes have been super helpful for me-2 of the classes were in a group type setting and I feel like we had 12 people in each of those. Then the other classes have been individual with just me and the instructor. I have learned so much regarding fibromyalgia from the various classes. I started them in January I think it was and there were a few that had longer wait times. I’m now doing the last one on my list in May. As far as cancellations go I’m not sure how many spots open up-I was waiting for openings for the stress one and it seems that one is super popular and has a longer wait.
@tmoe74 where are these classes? Are they virtual, zoom, in person?

1 Reaction@jeannesf1 Mine have all been online-easy to work into a schedule to do in the comfort of my own home. I didn’t do the coaching sessions as my insurance didn’t cover those 2 types of classes (I can’t remember the exact name of those 2 but it was weekly with coaches)

1 ReactionI went to the two day fibromyalgia class at Mayo, Jacksonville in October. I would say there were 12 people in the class. It was well worth my time. You learn about the history of fibromyalgia, what types of treatment are available and their effectiveness. At the end of the class you make a personal plan. They acknowledge the impact this disease has on all parts of your life. Many strategies are provided to help you cope and improve the quality of your life.
They also gave us a book, “Mayo Clinic Guide To Fibromyalgia” by Andy Avril, M.D. and Barbara K. Bruce, Ph.D., L. P. Dr. Bruce was one the speakers. She was very knowledgeable and helpful.

2 ReactionsWhere do you sign up for the online classes? thank you
You have to be referred by your dr and then they call to schedule.
@christyj1 That’s cool they gave you a book at yours. Mine have all been through Rochester Minnesota. I left my appointment with a bunch of pamphlets to use for the classes. When I took the first 2 classes they also sent me helpful materials online in my Mayo portal that I could print off.
