Dayvigo - Looking for reviews from anyone who tried this for insomnia.
Almost two years ago I suddenly developed chronic insomnia. I've been taking 100mg Trazodone and 2.5mg Melatonin which usually helps me fall asleep. But I wake every 1-2 hours at night and struggle to get back to sleep. My sleep dr seems to only suggest meds with the side effect of sleep walking with no awareness of it the next day. Dayvigo is the latest drug she suggests, with that side effect. I've read mixed reviews, with some relating scary side effects like sleep paralysis, scary dreams, etc. and for many this drug doesn't help at all. If you have experience with this med, I'd like to hear from you.

Ask your doctor about amitriptyline – I'm trying it and it isn't addictive and helps me sleep through the night.
I have been seeing a sleep med Dr and a sleep therapist. Tried cognitive behavior therapy which helps with sleep hygiene. After relying on ativan, which my doctor didn’t want me in long term, and trying trazadone, which affected my liver enzymes, I’m currently taking a low dose of mirtazapine and 1 mg melatonin. All my doctors are fine with me being on it long term and has been greatly helping
Have you tried any natural suppressants like magnesium or lemongrass tea? I take zopiclone which I find way too aggressive on my system & gives me the worst quality of sleep. Hope this helps.
What is your dose of mirtazapine? I tried 7.5mg one night and slept well but was sleepy and tired for 3 days afterwards, so never took it again. Thanks.
Yes, I take magnesium and have tried various teas meant to promote sleep. Are you still taking zopiclone? I read it's only meant for short-term use. Thanks.
I’m on 7.5 mg. I’m sometimes sleepy but I’ve struggled so much with sleep that I don’t mind the feeling
I take mirtazapine (7.5mg). To counter the morning grogginess, I take it at 8:30PM for a 10PM bedtime. I get up 3-4 times a night because of nature calls and pain, and it helps with getting back to sleep quickly rather than lying awake.
If you wish to try it again, maybe cut the dosage in half and try taking it earlier in the evening.
I haven't tried it because the side effects can cause temporary paralysis and nightmares.
