MAC and getting the COVID vaccine

Posted by cmi @cmi, Jan 6, 2021

This is a wonderful team...like a real cooperativa family...we are a band of patients that strategize together...amazing. All good dialogue for “rits”...I also believe the CAT scan would be a good step...it arms the doctor with evidence.

I have another question for the group...what are the feelings on “us” being candidates for the Covid vaccine? Has anyone yet vaccinated? I see my ID doc this afternoon...it is one of my concerns. Any feedback appreciated.

My daughter is an ER nurse, my niece an RN/PhD researcher who was moved to Covid work the day the virus broke here. What they are reporting as the after effects of the Covid-19 virus is not infections, but clotting issues and organ damage (including the brain). The drugs needed to deal with those are not natural, nor do common antibiotics help. They are for the most part experimenting frantically, trying to keep people alive.

Keep in mind that the flu vaccine is effectively a temporary solution too, about 60% effective and altered for varying strains and repeated each year. This new Covid vaccine is so far apparently 90% effective, and the "enemy" is at least 10 times more deadly than flu.

Everyone needs to make their own informed decision about vaccination, but here is my take - if it is even temporarily effective against this deadly-to-many virus, and research so far has shown it to be safe, we will be in line the very first day it is available to my husband and me. Unless and until someone shows me a science-based reason NOT to take it, I always take vaccines that will protect my immune-chaallenged body.

Off my soapbox now.

Sue, you always share valuable content. I slid the soapbox on stage with my question, so don’t apologize. All the commentary has helped me center my thoughts and cement my plans. I appreciate everyones contributions.
My ID doc offered me “no information or opinion worth repeating”...I am waiting for notification from the local healthcare center in my area.

Thank you Sue I agree with you, but as you realise after we give the flu vaccine it starts wearing off after 4 months and declines every month after, this covid vaccine has not been fully investigated by Scientists, as yet, lets be very cautious, and let the elderly and health workers have it wait and see 3 years on

Ive had the first shot of the Moderna vaccine. I have limited ability to produce IgG (gamma globulin) and infuse other people's pooled plasma once a week, and peole in that category do not necessarily have immune reactions-- I did not react to pneumonia vaccine, but I had great reaction to tetanus recently. So who knows if I will produce antibodies.

She has not cited any evidence to back herself up for what she is saying. All rhetoric and sensationalism. But this is not a political platform. So why are we even discussing this?

I have MAC and got my first Pfizer dose with no serious side effects, only a sore arm. I have my second dose on Feb. 2 . I’ll still wear a mask and be careful, but it is a great relief. The mask has kept me healthy for almost a year; no cough, no pneumonia, no viruses of any kind.
