CBD Oil

Posted by @suemer, Tue, Sep 11 1:57pm

Has anyone tried this for pain? My daughter-in-law is waiting for steroid injections as she has 2 buldging disks in her back and a torn ligament. Her doctors prescribed Tylenol and Tylenol 3. Did not work. CBD Oil has made a difference. She swears by it! Anyone else tried it?

No I haven't tried it but sure would like more information on it

I've been using it now for 3 months. My purpose was to see if it helped with inflammation from my high histamine levels so itching would be betterr because of various form of eczema and testing for joint pain from arthritis. I wish I could give your daughter more incouragement about pain relief, and yet read what I have discovered as she may find she can befit.

1. Not sure about itching- I had a Grover's disease breakout for about 3 months before I began CBD on my torso, a rash which usually lasts at least 6 months and must admit this time the symptoms were less severe and it is now gone. Yet 2 months ago developed a new form of eczema Perioral, which now is pretty much gone. Yet, I can't come to any concrete conclusion on CBD benefits.
2. Joint Pain- This is also hard to quantify because at the same time my cardiologist took me off of NSAIDs because of high blood pressure. So now my joints hurt more than ever. If it helps it is certainly no substitute for pain meds.
3. Surprise benefit- I will continue to take because I am pleased with a surprise benefit, calmness. CBD oil definitely makes me take time out to smell the roses and stressing significantly less. Not worrying about taking a leisurely stroll through the garden and wasting my time instead of pulling weeds. Yes, I get to the weeding but not at the expense of losing my simple pleasures. I use the isolate, so no THC-psychoactive substance- yet I can see the real world outside myself and not have my health worries bog me down.

Dosing is confusing, I find 4 drops daily of the 1000mg pure isolate are plenty for me. Either 2 in the morning and 2 before bed or just 4 before bed.

Yes, I use daily for my knee after having a total knee replacement. It certainly helps for sure. I highly recommend, use the highest dose you can find.

hello, I did try it, from 3 different suppliers, as did my son, for joint pain, not much difference, tylenol worked better for me, which is not much, but the cost was not sustainable, $50-70 was outrageous, I thought, so I am not a proponent. MARTHA

You are right, the price is ridiculous, but that will be changing. Congress passed a bill allowing the legal growing of hemp on the US earlier this year. Previously it had to be imported. Hemp has many industrial and commercial purposes beside the oil. The price should drop substantially after next years growing season because of the availability.

My sister had knee surgery and after using CBD oil for a month she is not experiencing any improvement. What strength do you use and what is your dose? I find taking more than 4-5 drops daily of the 1000 mg isolate makes me too mellow and I'm not as productive. I've never used a tranquilizer, perhaps that is the effect it has on me. I now take mainly at night to minimize this and must admit I sleep deeper.

Where do you get it from ? Sorry I know nothing g about it

Order online, completely legal. Or go to a local "head" or vaping store. I have done both. At almost 70 years old I wasn't brave enough to go into a head shop alone so took a girlfriend and we got a thrill and giggles over it. Very helpful staff. I am using Green Roads Isolate now but have used CBDistillery Full Spectrum also, both 1000mg and as mentioned must 4-5 drops daily of the 1000 are all I use. I prefer the taste of CBDistillery, a mild black pepper taste, herbal, the GreenRoads is extremely sweet. Also CBDistillery had drops easier to control but the childproof top was painful to open with arthritic wrists and took multiple tries. I replaced with a non-childproof dropper I found either at Walgreens or Amazon. GreenRoads has a new dropper syringe style. I looked online for you and the price of CBDistillery 1000mg Full Spectrum tincture is $60 for 15ml, but it lasted me about 6 weeks. GreenRoads prices have exploded. When I bought mine a month ago 30ml 1000mg was $129 sold at head shop, plus taxes. Internet site is $162! Wow. Read pros and cons about Full Spectrum versus Isolate. Personally I never noticed any of the trace THC in the Full Spectrum Tincture, which is .3% but would not recommend using Full Spectrum Tincture if person using will be drug tested, may show up. However study the difference, the Tincture also contains other elements with beneficial use and pain relief is one of them. But the Isolate also should help with pain.
Perhaps if looking for pain relief would up dose amount compared to what I use. Do buy the drops, as you utilize more when drops are placed under tongue for a minute as you need saliva to start to break it down, the stomach digestive juices won't do the same thing and you waste 75% of it. You can put in smoothies but then again the majority is not utilized and broken down. Don't try the powder chubs unless you want to use a bong and that held no interest for me.
I recommend studying. Load of info, I started with finding a site which explored the top 10 selling brands and rated according to taste, benefits and price.
I must admit I don't think I would pay GreenRoads new price and would return to using CBDistillery. Yet they have sales and promos for 1st time customers on line. A friend said she called direct and they helped her figure out the best deal.
I have read it takes about 3 weeks to notice the maximum benefit. It's not a miracle, but I think it improves the quality of my life. Also remember prices should tumble next year so don't stock up.

@lizzyisme what brand are you finding that works? I have one that doesn’t help with TKR pain or any achiness at all

Thank you I will look into this

I also need to correct, I am looking for pain relief, but my pain is moderate arthritis. What I meant was if I was looking for severe pain relief I would try a larger dosage. Yet, all sites say to start low to test how you react as they say all react differently.

Yes, I have been using it for 30 days for my Chronic Fatique it has helped tremendously. The Chronic Fatique was dillabataiing now I can go all day and not have to lay down or take breaks. I can drive now as before I could not. It is a mircale for me with the CBD oil as in another 60 days wow it will be remarkable.

Have you tried Kratom? I was on opiates for years due to degenerative disc issues. Then boom, no more. I was NOT paying for rehab, for methadone, for money grubbing counselors that have a huge recidivism rate because they just don't get it. Kratom allowed me to withdraw with minor annoyance and discomfort. I now feel SO PROUD that I did it myself, with the help of a natural plant that the FDA is trying to hard to ban. Pharmaceutical companies, rehab centers, all will lose customers if people begin to take charge of their lives THEMSELVES. Facebook has about 8 different Kraton groups that are closed, meaning private from everyone but the group. You can join one and learn so much about taking control of your pain.

Kratom relieves pain, period. CBD oil does help, but not enough. I am a wimp about chronic pain!

Oh, was so glad to see this information, since I just took a leap of faith and ordered Kratom, for my hip pain, year long pain, while I tried to find any other solution besides THR. I also tried CBD oil, with NO improvement, and I just will NOT take opiates (am a retired Psych RN, drug rehab work). I will post when time permits the assessment of relief. The FDA does NOT protect us, it protects BIG PHARMA, and the implant business. martha
