Can I safely stop Eliquis and use Baby Asprin instead?
I have been on Eliquis for over 2 years following a blood clot in my leg. My PCP says I need to stay on it for the rest of my life.
I had venous ablation to resolve vein issues. I also tested for the blood clotting gene and do not have it.
I'm fatigued and weak since on Eliquis. Is is safe to stop taking Eliquis and instead opt for baby asprin?

At my Feb. 2025 annual physical, my P.A. shared that she could send my expensive prescriptions through a very reputable Canadian Pharmacy that she is familiar with.
She learned of this from her transplant patients who had care at Froedert Hospital - their physicians used that pharmacy.
The savings is quite large.
She had a patient who was paying about $520 per month for Eliquis & paid approximately $220 for a
3-month supply of Eliquis through this Canadian Pharmacy:
It’s called
Canada Prescriptions Plus

Allow 2 to 6 weeks for shipping.
They only accept American Express for payment.
(There’s reason to be careful with other Canadian pharmacies.
I read over 90% are not reputable.)

thank you so much,
Twice over the last three year I felt extreme tiredness and pain in back of my neck and trouble holding my head up, and these symptoms correlated with low blood pressure. today and once before I experienced the pain and then sunk to the ground (fainted momentarily).
Why is the pain in my neck and lower back is related to low blood pressure ?
I have stopped taking my blood pressure daily to ascertain if I should take my meds to lower my blood pressure.
I would strongly recommend you discuss this with your physician.
The $10 discount card only works with commercial insurance - not with Medicare or Medicaid.
This is for gmakat24 asking about going off Eliquis
I too have taken eliquis & had multiple side effects, so the Cardiologist I saw at the time changed me to Xeralto.
Much as I appreciated a change, unfortunately that was going from bad to Worse ... All the blood Thinners were Toxic to my body chemistry. Finally my Daughter suggested I get a 2nd Opinion with another Dr. That Dr. looked at all the information I provided from Other Dr.'s, EKG's, etc., etc., & shared with us His advice. It was sensible & I felt he was "spot On".
My Suggestion? If your Cardiologist doesn't seem to be 'flexible' or you're questioning his diagnosis, (?) seek a 2nd Opinion. Each New Pair of Eyes may see something a Previous Dr. may have overlooked. Check with your Insurance Agent to be sure getting a 2nd Opinion will be covered.
Lots of Luck & God Bless.....
Follow your "Gut & Instincts". If a Dr. is recommending a procedure that has Risks that could be Catastrophic - & You're not convinced it's "the right thing to do", seek a 2nd Opinion. It's NOT a matter of finding a Dr. "who'll Tell you what you Want To Hear!"
I take my Daughter along to these Appointments ... 4 eyes & Ears are better than 2! When she & I agree the Dr. is "fast tracking Me into a procedure that may or MAY NOT be the Right Solution, or absolute Necessary", We're Entitled to a 2nd opinion!
This morning we went to a Dr. ... told her we'd consulted another Dr. for a 2nd Opinion, she Literally Threw Me Out, saying "If I don't have Confidence in me & my colleague, they don't want to see me Again." At first My daughter & I were Shocked, Then we decided Maybe IT 'S TIME for me to find A New Cardiologist!
I feel that both parties to this abrupt parting were essentially right in their orientation. You have the right, perhaps even the duty, to seek and to acquire the best care for yourself. On the other hand, the cardiologist had already informed you of her opinion, and couldn't very well listen to another and accept that as a better one. If she did, she would be somewhat diminished in competency in your eyes, in which case you'd almost certainly seek the services of the other cardiologist. There could be no winners in returning to an original informer and confronting her with a contrary opinion.
You Are Absolutely Correct! Thank you for putting it so articulately. I appreciate your response.
