Benign carcinoid tumor in bronchi tube

Posted by jessie1990 @jessie1990, Oct 30, 2025

Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

@jessie1990 I looked it up, and it says it's for moderate pain relief. Have you ever taken hydrocodone? It was suggested as s better pain med. for muscle/skeletal pain. What you are on is a scheduled drug, yes?

@jessie1990 That's what kinda happened to me too. I was seeing several doctors, and none of them seem to agree. So dang frustrating. I'm wondering what test they use to rule out inflammation. You don't have a fever...right?

@nannybb just back from gp doc said pain in my lung is nerve pain over haven partial callapse and having half of the carcinoid remover it will take months to heal so not looking forward to surgery now if I'm having this pain already 🥹 and I have a kidney infection

@jessie1990 So now you have to have antibiotic. I'm sorry Jess. And you have to keep your family going. I can understand about getting another operation. You are already in pain. I would ask before the surgery they are going to take any lymph nodes...just a thought.

@nannybb yes antibiotics for kidney infection just told me keep taking salpadol for lung pain my pulmonary specialist said my lymph nodes were swollen when he went down my throat to take tumor in September but said that was over pneumonia Infection he removed one and it came back clear so the surgeons team member told me more then likely all lymph nodes are clear if one was clear did they remove your lymph nodes during surgery did they come back clear

@jessie1990 I don't know how they determine how many to take. They removed 5 of mine. All 5 were clear. At the time, I thought they took one from under my right arm. It hurt terribly in that area right out of surgery. Surgeon promises they didn't. Still cannot give clear answer regarding any of my pain. I pray this next surgery gets all of your tumor, and ALL of your pain. 💕

The one they operated on was lower right lobe. They found 3 more at some point. They are still very small...2 in left lobe, one more in right.

@jessie1990 I don't believe you can know that for sure without doing a biopsy. He said they are very small and unless thet start to grow, nothing would be done except to watch them. I don't understand why he didn't tell me there were more sooner.
