Are eyepatches considered a physical aid?

I keep thinking they might be but I’m still not sure. And also, if they are is it for certain conditions?

My 18 month old grandson has A Juvenile cataract. He must wear any eye a few times
Per week on his good eye to help strengthen the other eye.

@disinfectingwipe Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Glad you could join in on the discussions. I found the following article that you may like to read about patching.

@disinfectingwipe, can you give us a little more information on your situation? Is the patch for you or someone you are caring for? What is the patch to be used for?

The patch is for someone I’m caring for, they’re wearing it to help with strabismus.
