I have suffered from dryness on my whole body for at least 10 years, since age 70! I was tested positive for Sjogren's syndrome. I can tolerate dryness anywhere on my body except my MOUTH! Every night, my bone-dried mouth awaken me, then I have to sip water every few hours all through the night!. I don't have dry mouth during the day. My primary doctor didn't offer any advice! Taping my mouth to keep my mouth closed didn't work. The only mouth moisturizer that help is Biotene Dry Mouth Gel that I have been using every night. This moisturizing gel is quite expensive, also I don't know the bad effects for long term use! I'm hoping to hear from you, the kind MayoConnect people, how you cope with your dry mouth! Thanks so much!

There are drugs that help too. Have you seen a rhemetologist? There is an autoimmune disease, called Sjogren's Syndrome, that can be related.
This is worth looking into especially if you have dry eyes and dry mouth
. Sjogrens Syndrome can effect your entire body, thats why you need to see a rhemetologist, if you have concerns…

@ew100 Welcome to connect where we try to help if we can . I have had both for a long time . I use to use Biotene but Dr recommended Act mouthwash . The flavor is better to me then the Biotene . I also drink sips of water during night . I use Refresh Optive preservative free eyedrops during the day . During the day I use the Act lozengers for dry mouth
