Perhaps the clinical presentation is that someone's abdomen is large and pushes up against the diaphragm and causes sleep apnea.....perhaps Zepbound was to encourage weight loss to improve the apnea.
I am not sure why losing weight will help with sleep apnea but most doctor's think being even a little overweight can contribute to having that medical condition. I did get approval from my insurance to get the Zepbound which I was very surprised that they allowed. It was rejected several times prior as the medication is expensive but for some reason they approved it this time so I just started on the Zepbound last week. We will see what happens. Thank you for responding.
Yes, I am on Medicare and am taking Zepbound for sleep apnea. ( covered by Medicare) I have been on it for several months and have lost about 15 pounds - I am overweight. I also have PMR and am very pleased that this Rx has helped my inflammation tremendously. I am moving better, sleeping better - better oxygen level. I have no significant side effects. I don’t know if I will ever be able to stop the cpap machine, but am thankful for the weight loss and increased energy.
Hi! Did you have to go through a difficult prior authorization process with your plan? If you don't mind sharing what plart D plan do you have? I have Wellcare and it specifically says Not Covered in the formulary. I am just trying to figure out if it will be a huge battle or even worth it to try.
Thanks!

Im just starting this Zepbound at $349 / month. I just started cpap and allergic to latex. Sigh. I was on Ozempic, but was severely constipated and nauseated. I thought I was fixing to throw up feces. I lost 30 lbs on O, and 30 to go on zepbound.
Monjauro is THE drug to reverse diabetes. know of two people who are not diabbetic 2 any more !! One is Michigan and one here in Colorado !!

I have VT blue advantage. Coverage of Zepbound for sleep apnea just started this year. The drs office called and provided results of my sleep test and info on my weight. It was pleasantly simple. Best of luck. I feel that this is making a huge difference in my health.

Constipation can be a problem. I put some MiraLAX in my morning coffee and have a fiber gummy in the afternoon. It seems to be manageable. My weight loss is about half a pound a week. Part of me wishes it was faster, but I have to say I don’t feel deprived of food, just eating less with better choices. My oxygen level is gradually improving. I am feeling overall better.

LOL. For a good morning start, I poured in a capful of Miralax into prune juice, then my decaffeinated coffee. Now waiting. I'm going to eat an apple and a black plum.
My goal to have a regular BM every day ! I hope to not have the constipation woes that come with the other GLP 1
