I read that it has put people in remission. I want to know if it. opens the parent up to infections like the immunosuppressant

judyresnick, I'm saddened by your daughter's experience. I can only imagine how terrible it has been to see her suffer. It's good that she has you by her side.
CART T is exciting even at this trial stage. The trials aren't always easy to get into and I've noticed that many of them are in China. https://clinicaltrials.gov/expert-search
There will be later stage, larger trials. It's good to get all the information you can so that when your daughter recovers she'll be ready for any possibility.

I hope she has an easy recovery and out of the hospital.
Bless this struggle with luck.

I was looking for you on this site. You were so helpful to me and actually made me feel better. Stacey, my daughter, just got out. of UCLA, where she was treated for sepsis. She was in septic shock and in ICU for over a week. She came home yesterday. She is so weak from being so sick, all cause by immunosuppressants. She can't take any of them which leaves nothing but steroid use. I am so anxious to learn more about CAR T, and you were the one that helped me look. I would love to stay in touch with you because you seem so knowelgable, and compassionate.

judyresnick, I'm grateful for the update about Stacey getting out the hospital. UCLA is wonderful, but hospitals can be germ centers.
All my studies were in liberal arts, which makes me the least reliable source. It's good to have a medical doctor who engaged with clinical trials, or one who would encourage participation. I'd resolved to send you everything I find.
This article has me jazzed. https://www.fiercebiotech.com/research/first-car-t-cell-therapy-drives-3-autoimmune-diseases-remission-once
