Posted by rose53 @rose53, Oct 21, 2021

I was just diagnosed with this uterine cancer. I am 68 and I'm so freightened. Waiting to see doctor for hysteroctomy. This is all I know. I had a biopsy done and this is the result. Anyone please let me know what ro expect and do before hand and any suggestions are embraced. ❤

You are so welcome! Thank you so much for all that you do. You are a true inspiration. ❤ I don't know where I would be without the support, encouragement and information I have received here in this forum.

Your fatigue may be a combination of things. I am certain that radiation takes a lot out of a person. That along with the stress and having to relocate for a significant time must have been daunting.

I did sleep well (finally) and took an extra long nap today. I still feel tired, but sure enjoyed the extra rest. I did watch some TV. Tomorrow I plan to cook some so that I won't have to do that in the evenings next week. I think that will help some. Yes, we did get snow. It was a winter wonderland today. Hopefully that will be the last this year. I love to read too, but have found it hard to concentrate on that since my surgery. I don't know why.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend and that you get lots of rest and relaxation.
Many prayers and good thoughts are being sent to you.

@cmb2022 I'm so glad to hear that you are sleeping better and had a long nap yesterday. Yes, since it's March I'm so done with snow although our snow has become crust and ice. Not at all good for X-country skiing. It might be could for skating since our road and driveway are a solid sheet of ice.

It's after 2 pm (Daylight Savings Time started today) and I'm still in my pajamas. It's decadent and so nice at the same time. It is a quiet day at home.

I had trouble concentrating on reading when I was in Rochester getting radiation therapy. Although I tried to do what i could to minimize the stress it was there and that interfered with my usual level of concentration. You've been through so much over the past 5 weeks including early menopause and accompanying sadness and anxiety. All that could certainly affect your concentration.

I hope you slept well last night and will get in another long nap today.

Blessings to you.

Thank you! Unfortunately, last night and today weren't good sleeping or nap days. This journey sure isn't for everyone. I had a good day yesterday and was thinking that maybe it was a turning point. I suppose that was too much to wish for. I have never been a patient person. ...

Oh how nice to enjoy a pajama day. That sounds wonderful! Tomorrow is back to work. The weekend sure did fly by and the time change didn't help.

I have always loved reading and purchased two new books specifically to read while I was on leave. They will keep until I am ready I suppose.

As always thank you for your insight and encouragement and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

@cmb2022 Yes, that's so difficult to have a good day followed by a night without good sleep. That has to be terribly frustrating when you know you will be back at work today. It's good you don't feel you need to hide how you are feeling and that your supervisor is understanding. It sounds like you and I are alike in how we push ourselves with high expectations. It reminds me that doing your best can mean different things at different times. Today you are doing your best by going to work and listening to what your body is telling you.

Those new books will await you when you are ready.

Yes, it sure is. This past week was super busy and hectic and on top of all that I ended the week by waking up with a cold on Friday. I suppose my body is worn down.
You are right! I have high expectations and always give 110%, even when I am running on empty...
I hope your week has gone well and that you are feeling better.
As always thank you for your insight and kind words.

@cmb2022 I had a cold a few weeks ago. It was the first time I'd had a virus in two years since I've been so careful with masking and keeping that physical distance from others. And yes, I can see that you'd be more likely to catch whatever virus is floating around since you were worn down.

Hmm. A 110%. It's difficult to dial that percentage back when it's how you operate on a regular basis, isn't it? The problem for me is that when I don't reach that high expectation my mood plummets and it's hard to give myself a break. I write reports where I work and a supervisor once said to me that it's OK to submit a "B" report. The reports don't always have to be "A" quality. Considering that so few people actually read my reports (that I'm aware of) I do ask myself that question . It's difficult for me to walk away from my computer knowing that I didn't strive for that "A". Does this sound familiar to you?

I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow so I'm sure looking forward to that. I hope you've given yourself some rest this week especially with that cold.

Thank you for always inquiring about me. I appreciate it. Have you scheduled that massage yet?

I thought I had been careful too. I have been avoiding public places and still wear a mask and maintain distance, but it happened.

Yes, that is very familiar! It is so hard to submit anything that is less than perfect! My line of work requires that I be precise (financial industry).

I hope your massage is wonderful, and no I haven't scheduled one yet.
Oh, you are welcome! I sincerely appreciate you and care how you are!
