I worry about it constantly!

I am so sorry for your concern. I would get another opinion. There could be other complicated health issues that they are concerned about. Or are there? I would take your records and see a Mayo Heath Care Center/Rochester/ Phoenix/Florida, anywhere you can find them. It might take you awhile to get in but I would do what you can to get in. Find a doctor or health care system you can trust and is listening to you. Best wishes.

I wouldn’t worry about my aneurysm just because it’s there. I would like to know why an emergency room physician transferred me to a trauma hospital for emergency surgery other than the fact that he said I had an aneurysm show up in a CTscan but didn’t tell me how big or small.
I should have asked but I didn’t think to ask him.
The emergency doctor was concerned and that’s why I was transferred. My aneurysm is not just an aneurysm but it is a torn one of unknown size to me. I trusted the fact that the doctors knew what they were doing.

When I got to the trauma hospital the emergency department doctors acknowledged the torn aneurysm and again I forgot to ask the size of the aneurysm and the size of the tear.
If it’s small I don’t care. If I don’t need surgery that’s great. But I’m blind to that.

2 cardiovascular surgeons and their team discharged me because it wasn’t bleeding at the time but “you will need to come back to a less urgent situation.
Not knowing the size of the tear and the size of my aneurysm bothers me. I would like to know the numbers. I am hoping it’s nothing to worry about but he did say yes that it could burst.
My question is when? If at all. I’m also not feeling any pain so I’m assuming it’s nothing.
The not knowing whatever I need to be concerned about and being told that I would have to return later my question is why?
Why did the trauma hospital say I had to come back later and do I need to wait until it’s bleeding? Why? It could have been repaired that day since it was 3 cm a year ago and may have grown.
Anyway time will determine when I go back to the hospital when it’s painful and bleeding because being away from a hospital could kill me.

I worry too. I had a lower rupture in October 2021 and after 2 months in the hospital a second surgery and a stroke was able to go home.
The recovery was slow because I was afraid to push it for fear it would happen again. Two years later the rupture remains at 4 and I am told I am a walking wonder. I don’t know if that help with my worrying at all. I still have back pain and know that is a sign.
Finally I understand that there are mental side effects from the stroke that could contribute to my fears.

How do you know you have a rupture? Did you have any symptoms ? I’m a bit concerned because I have a descending aneurysm they are watching.
June 1 of this year I had
Surgery on a thoracic aneurysm. Went back to work in 3 months. Still
Recovering. Stamina not there yet but pushing it.
High stress job.
When I had my post CT angiogram I was shocked to know I had yet another
Aneurysm.

I lost feeling on my legs and my wife immediately called 911. If she hadn’t,I would likely be dead. There is a 2% chance of survival and time is key.
When a Rupture occurs blood stops flowing to arms, legs, kidney etc depending on where the rupture is. The blood flows to your gut instead. I still have a hole 4mm and they check it and other thing every 6 months.
I don’t think you can live of fear of it happening and just be aware so you can get help as fast as possible.

I didn’t know what it was until I got home (2 months, 2 surgeries and a stroke later) and looked it up on google.

I have had an ascending aorta aneurysm for 20 years.. I retired at 63.. take my blood pressure meds without fail.. do not lift heavy things.. practice low stress approach to life.. no smoking.. careful about weight and drinking.. annual measure at same cardiology dept..

Wow that's great! Actually that is what I am shooting for :). Mine was first found in 2018 during a Cathiterization. My cardio Dr wasn't worried he said no dissection and he didn't call it an aneurysm he said enlarged aorta root. I had a CT scan beginning of December and it showed up as a 4.1 cm. To tell you the truth I forgot about it in 2018 because he didn't make a big deal about it. Now that I have been reading up on this it is a very BIG deal. I am hoping I have an experience like you to live a long time with it. I am not a big drinker so I can not have it a all w/out any issue and I do watch what I eat and exercise regularly. I have HBP but it well controlled although with this new issue it's a little elevated average is 132/76 instead of the normal 119/70 I am hoping both my GP and Cardio will help put me at ease I am seeing them this week and next.

If I can drive after 4 weeks since I have business' to attend to , It'll be fine
Not much we can do about it , live healthy till the surgery so we heal quicker
what I read its like 96% success rate , Great odds in Vegas
