Hello @rhs1957 -- welcome to Connect. There are a few discussion on CBD oil that you may want to read. I found them by clicking on the search icon (small magnifying glass at the top of the Connect page) and typing in CBD oil then checking the Discussion option in the Filters at the side. This is the result of that search:

I am also tagging a few members who have discussed using CBD oils to see if they can provide any additional information for you.
@brightwings, @medfree17, @montanagary, and @artscaping can you share your experience with CBD oils for relief with @rhs1957?
John
Hello @tierd -- welcome to Connect. I have not heard of having the nerves burned. Did your specialist give you any details on the procedure - specifically any risks involved, success ratio, etc. ? There is another discussion on a new knee procedure called COOLIEF that you may want to review here:

I'm also tagging @JustinMcClanahan who has had a knee replacement to get his thoughts and maybe offer some suggestions.

I am new to this forum - you are the first one I'm responding to. I have chronic back pain from arthritis, degenerative disc disease, scolious, & stenois(sp) . . .have had physical therapy, acupuncture, & cortisone injections - AND one of those cortisone injections for sciatica down my leg---- did the trick --- that was last summer. Have not had surgery - he advised against it- Next time I saw surgeon last year/ re:back, he said, "if that sciatica returns -- see me - that's a simple procedure to take care of." Don''t know what exactly it is, but I would go see him if it came back. NOW regarding CBD - I ordered and used for the first time yesterday one of the patches. It relieved the pain - probably in 20 min-1/2 hr. & held it off for abt 10 + hr. Have one on today and feel so much better. I got a couple stabs when I moved a certain way. I don't want to say, "oh boy! that's over with!!!" This path has its ups & downs,(mostly ups) doesn't it. Anyway, ordered more & put a call into my regular dr to see if it's ok to not use his prescribed pain med -which i believe has been causing me stomach pain. Sorry I can't proclaim victory over this pain which has been going on for well over a year - but this is where I am now. I am hopeful abt the cbd.
@oliver912 Hi I have had sciatica pain goes from back to down leg the only thing that helped me was a Dr.of Chiropractic usually one time seeing him and it was gone completely have you ever given thought to try one?as it is the nerve being pinched and I get great results
@oliver912 I think we have some of the same issues. I had one injection years ago that worked but have had many many others that had no effect. I take Neurontin as Lyrica did not work for me. My pain doctor won't prescribe pain meds at all if I am using CBD. Where did you order the patches from? I am just curious and would like to look into it. I did some DNA testing with my pain doctor and found that I metabolize Norco (which is what I take) rather quickly so we may switch me and try something else. The oral CBD I was taking helped with the anxiety and worry I had about my pain but the Norco helps more with the pain so I had to make the choice of taking the Norco. I wonder if the patch would show up in a drug test which he does every once in a while. My pain doctor is also starting to do a lot of other things like stem cell therapy and several different types of spinal cord stimulators. I have constant burning pain in my legs and all the way down to my ankles so I am open to trying just about anything. No surgery though as it would be life altering and the pain doctor advised against it. Just curious about the patches. Thanks and sorry you have these issues. I know they are painful.
Hi John
The nerve burning the doc is referring to might be radio frequency ablation.
Ronnie
Hi
I think the nerve burning your specialist is talking about is radio frequency nerve ablation. This is suppose to cauterize the nerves so the pain messages don't reach the brain. I've had it done a few times for back and neck pain without success. Of course, we are all different and react in different ways.
Good luck!
