Anyone experienced Iliofemoral Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)?

While I’ve not had that kind of dvt, I had a dvt in my calf in 2017. My leg had changed colors with red streaks. They put me on bed rest for a week & followed up with appointments. I recommend you get a 2nd opinion, maybe even go to urgent care today. You’re in my prayers & keep us posted.

Could be a May-Thurner (google) variant, which requires aggressive thrombolysis/thrombectomy and stenting. And anticoagulation stat. At the very least, you need a CT w/ contrast of the proximal venous vasculature for definitive diagnosis. And this is generally treated at medical centers with experience in this sort of thing. The docs who are blowing you off are negligent, so far it seems. You're going to have to be a squeaky wheel until you get to the care you need.

Been pretty squeaky so far but to no avail. Been to 2 different urgent cares, my PCP and my GI doctor-all they do is look for the ordinary and familiar. When I saw my GI he did a physical exam by squeezing my left hip once while I was sitting in a chair and declaring that there was no tenderness. That was it for my exam. My PCP (her PA actually) ordered a CT of abdomen and pelvis but without contrast and not stat. Saw her on Nov. 10th but have yet to get the scan done. Still waiting on my insurance company to call me back with an appointment day and time. The pain is really getting to me since it has been not good since Nov. 1st!

This is NOT medical advice as you're not my patient.... but, I'd consider going to a medical center ER where you might be taken seriously. The delay in care/evaluation/tx you're experiencing is inexcusable.

Finally got my CT scans done on Tuesday, Nov. 21st. Still waiting on results-yes-a week later. Ugh!

Ask your PCP how to get a second opinion, OR even better, call the facility where the Ct was read, and ask that a second radiologist read the film at your request. They should do that, and may or may not put in a charge to your insurance.
Many items are seen on CT scans and X-rays, but radiologists may or may not comment on normal body parts.

@penelope321, I don't like to read those reports until I hear from my doctor. However, I must admit that I do it on occasion and come away confused. Having said that, I suggest that you schedule a follow-up appointment with the doctor who ordered the CT if one is not scheduled for you. He/she is the expert on your particular condition and has a reason for ordering the test.
I once had a CT in local ER for a possible injury after a fall, and the report did not mention a tiny kidney stone that was visible. The report focused attention on the injured area. Fortunately all was well as for the injury. Later when I visited my kidney transplant team for a routine check, they saw the kidney stone and acted on it.

Who ordered the CT scan? Do you have a follow-up appointment?

What I was referring to are not normal body parts. In previous CT scans they are mentioned especially since one of them is located in the area of concern. My doctor’s office did finally call today. And no my PCP is not the expert-PCPs only look for the usual and common. My two legs are different colors for goodness sake. This is not a normal thing especially since it was sudden and painful onset.

I would go to a specialist. Perhaps a gastroenterologist? If you are connnected to "MyChart" or other online medical website connected with your doctor, the specialist will be able to pull up your scans and look at them. I wish you the best and praying for you. It's a different day in that we have to be our on advocate a lot of times.
