Low dose naltrexone for Post-Covid Recovery experiences?
Does anyone have experiences with low dose naltrexone for long Covid symptoms of significant brain fog, post-exertional fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain - inflammation, insomnia. A few studies in late 2022 indicate that low dose naltrexone 4.5 mg is helpful . Do you know of a specific doctor in NYC who prescribes it?

1 ReactionMy child with mild POTS' doctor prescribed it for them for fatigue and brain fog based on some positive results they've seen using it in long covid. I think it is also used in ME/CFS sometimes. It's only been several months and my child doesn't think it's helping yet, but some say you have to give it up to a year.
I have been taking LDN since January for long Covid. I don’t see any difference except, miracle of miracles, my IBS-D has disappeared. I’ve had it over 20 years. One other thing, my MD put me on Adderall (low dose) for the fatigue and it is definitely helping with that. I do not have ADHD and have never taken anything like this before.
Low dose Naltrexone was prescribed for my brain fog. There was no improvement. I had graduated up to 4mg.
Everything works differently for individuals, so go for it!
There were no bad side effects for me. I have discontinued.
LDN saved my wife's life
I have been on low dose naltrexone ie 4.5 mg daily for 8 weeks, combine with NAD (a supplement( as per protocol at Mayo climic). It has helped me significantly. My first prescription was from Mayo pharmacy, subsequent refills from a local compounding pharmacy.
I've been taking LDN for 6 months. At 3mg now. I think it has helped with brain fog. I am also taking duloxotene, which helps also. I noticed a slight improvement when adding LDN. I have to have it compounded at a specialized pharmacy and it is $75/mo. There is a YouTube video on the theory, and a med study that helps convince a doc to prescribe it.

1 ReactionI have just started taking LDN as I have a long hauler niece back east who has had good results with it....she was lucky enough to get in a long haul clinic so it was prescribed thru them. The recommendation is to titrate with it so I am taking a low dose and will very slowly work up to 4.5 mg.
