Has anyone had the LEAP-MRT Food Reaction Test?
ALLERGIES: LEAP-MRT Food Reaction Testing? Has anyone heard of this test? It tests for 130 food and 20 chemical and additives for reactivity.
I have had allergies and asthma practically since birth (40 years). I have IBS, non-celiac gluten intolerance, ADHD, have had Eczema, I'm lactose intolerant, my integrative medicine doc thinks I have "leaky gut syndrome", Im allergic to shellfish (not seafood thankfully), amoxicillin/penicillin/flexeril drug sensitivity, allergic to cinnamon gum, I have environmental allergies (grass, trees, dust, pollen, etc..), acidic pineapple sensitivity (must be thoroughly rinsed, baking soda & peroxide toothpaste, all scented laundry/bath/dish soaps/feminine products, and my newest is a possible sulfite sensitivity (shortness of breath). I have my reflux under control (I had both kinds).
I basically do a (as much as possible) Organic/Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Lactose Free, GERD-friendly, Gallbladder-friendly (mine was removed 2 years ago) diet. (HAHA!) I take a ton of supplements daily and just want to know once and for all everything I am allergic or intolerant to, so I dont have to keep finding out the hard way!

Hi @mgnunez75, and welcome to Connect. I'm Alyse, and I'm one of the community moderators here. I'm sorry to hear about all of your allergies - I can only imagine how frustrating it can be finding out the hard way, like you said.
Have you done any type of allergy or food reaction test before? Or have you scheduled a time for the LEAP-MRT test? I found some information on the types of food allergy tests Mayo Clinic offers (http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/food-allergy/basics/tests-diagnosis/con-20019293).
MGUNEZ75 I have also had allergies all of my life. The foods I am allergic to tend to change over time. I have just been diagnosed with lichen planus, an auto imune disease that attacks mucus membranes primarily in your mouth. So, I dont thonk it is possible to identify future itmes that may cause you trouble.
Hello and thank you for posting your question about MRT testing. I have the same question and have been trying to find some reviews or folks with experience with the test. I guess I will ask my allergist. I have a nutritionist who is suggesting I so the MRT test to determine food sensitivities that are contributing to my heartburn. Best wishes to you all.

From what I've heard from others on another site, this test won't really give you what you want to know - there are variances in the level of sensitivity/allergy to items, and if you moderate them, they may not matter to your system. Non-processed foods with the fewest ingredients usually sit better than others claiming to be gluten free, sugar free (they replace with sorbitol or oils) and so on. Try a FODMAP diet for a few weeks and keep a diary of what you ate and comment on how you feel the next day (ie lethargy), physical symptoms and so on. Over the years I have zeroed in on foods that do not agree with me. Ask your Dr about meds to help. Regarding supplements, my take is to be very judicious and instead concentrate on high nutritional foods. I do take magnesium citrate (cramps, low due to pantoprozole), B-12 for focus and to help get over illness. Dr recommends D3 if you are mostly indoors.
Dear friend, yes, I have had these tests, plus pollen allergy tests. I am allergic to chemicals and many pollens. Are you aware of Oral Food Syndrome? It's when your body cross reacts with foods that have the same proteins are your pollen allergens. Your throat itches like the devil and you need tons of your steroid cream to survive the misery. If you have pollen allergens, look up "foods that cross react with birch trees, ragweed, etc." Then also look up foods that cross react with the foods on these lists. Unfortunately, the lists are exhaustive. I can only eat and drink about 10 things and absolutely no seasonings or herbs other than salt. I hope you don't have this problem. Mine exasperated after having the RSV virus in 2023 before the RSV vaccine. The virus can trigger and worsen allergies. Ugh! All the best! Julie
Hello, I have been reading through post today trying to figure out my diag for multiple chemical sensitivity, I also have food allergies, dust mites, cat dander , and other's. Cam I ask were you went to have further testing done? I feel more testing is needed to get to the bottom of my diagnosis?
Sorry to hear about your problems.
Here south eastern Minnesota soil is salty as there used to be an ocean here.
Do a daily diary, Be mindful if you eat something that your body cannot process it can take one to three days for your body to figure out what to do with it.. I know for me if I get milk or eggs within an hour or two I am sick. My body can’t get rid of it fast enough. Then there are other foods my body can’t figure out what to do with, and I become very constipated. So if you eat something on Sunday and Tuesday, you’re having problems, go back to Sunday and figure it out.
Perfumes, body washes soaps, air fresheners, my one son, and I have a great difficulty with. We have trouble breathing and we have to get ourselves out of the area ASAP. Also construction work or remodeling of a business can also set off or a chemical reactions. Paint, Glues, Panel, And so on can cause problems for me when I’m out and about.
Lotions, I cringe every time I see a company that has changed its packaging or it says new and improved. Chances are they did something, but I may not be able to tolerate.
Milk and eggs are in a lot of medications also over-the-counter medicines.. Then there is aluminum dies, The coloring on medicines as well as foods a candy bar, I question if there is aluminum dies. Don’t forget, shampoos and soap, dish soap, and laundry soap can also be a problem if you have an allergy to eggs.
Be a detective and I wish you the best. It has taken me decades to figure most of this out.
I had the MRT test done and it showed sensitivities to alot of things.. I worked with a Nutritionalist for several month.. 5 phases of the LEAP ..and then I found out there was a PHASE SIX that lasted several months.. and I just quit.. she had me trying 4 out of 5 things she listed per week.. most of which I would never have eaten and some of which I didn't even know what they were..(simple country girl here.. with college degree.. but still simple) and ..PAPYA.. I have a laytex allergy.. it seems that there is a food group including papaya that if you're allergic to laytex you should eat!! I found that the fewer the ingredients the better.. and I drink 2 Vanilla Plant based Ensures a day.. really brought my Vitamin D level up.. can't do chocolate (boohoo) and I never ever ingest sucralose if at all possible.. good gut bacteria killer.. I'm down to just bout 10 things I can eat without being concerned if I will make it to an appointment or something. social life ..zero..a good day is a day out of bed.. but still claiming healing!! And looking forward to adopting 3 dogs..as my last one passed last July at 13..I have an acre fenced.. dogs houses and kennel ready.. God did send me a house CAT!! I lost my 19 year old and 13 year old house cats acouple of years ago.. my policy is none til I can take good care of them.. so DREAM LARGE!! Never give up!! If I have to live on Plant based ensure .. it's safe I will.. believing for us all to live our lives fully and abundantly!! God bless you all and make you well!!
When I was little. I kept telling my folks food made me sick. My Dad being a farmer couldn’t understand. The foods that made me sick was his bread and butter. .
I love onions and garlic but you don’t want to be by me for days. I can eat beans as long there is no onions or garlic in them.
The one thing I have trouble with is. Concomitant/Synergistic foods. My doctor gave me a paper on it.
As I got older I had to be careful what I ate.
No mushrooms for me.
I find there are a lot of use out there.
Good luck.
