Fatigue every afternoon - How can I get more energy?
I am 75 and am very tired every afternoon. I need a two hour nap. My blood work is good. Any comments that can help me get more energy?

I am 88 and just made a virtual appointment with my internist because I am constantly fatigued. The slightest effort exhausts me and I walk very slowly because I don't have the energy to speed up. I especially notice weakness in my legs. After treatment for prostate cancer Lupron destroyed my body's ability to create testosterone so I have very little, 15, where most men have in the 300s or more. Is that the issue or is something else going on? I've decided I need to know and made the appointment.
I put a camera in the bedroom to analyze how I was sleeping because it is such a hassle to take the test. One thing that helps me is to wear a chin strap to keep me from breathing thru my mouth during sleep.
Glad you are meeting with your internist. Recovering from cancer and the treatments one goes through zaps the body of energy. Be kind to yourself.
Been trying to adjust to a BIPAP since last year when diagnosed with sleep apnea. Yuk. Been through multiple masks trying to get comfortable but so exhausted with this thing. I may be sleeping “safer” but sure not sleeping very long -
Apparently there is a solution where they implant a nerve stimulator to control sleep apnea. I know I could never get to sleep wearing a mask.
I don't think I have sleep apnea just get up 4 times a night to use the toilet.
Cancer treatment certainly brings fatigue. I try to make sure I eat well, hydrate and remain active.
Narus, did a sleep study cause you to try the CPAP/BIPAP?
I never had a sleep study because I would have had to drive 80 miles and overnight at the clinic. I understand now they have a kit that you can take home.
Watching video on my sleeping I am pretty sure I do not have sleep apnea. I have taken to wearing the chin strap because as hard as I try I still breath thru my mouth at night and would wake up because my mouth is so dry.
I recently lost 60 lbs so that probably helped.
I am 88 and I try to have a rest everyday with my feet up for at least one hour, this was suggested by my dr. I try to do this and find my self dozing off at times.
I still do my exercises and try to walk every day and then I have my rest. If I miss my rest I become very tired early evening.
I think we all suffer from being tired. I am 81, almost 12 months post salvation radiation and I feel tired all the time although I still try to do my exercises and golf a couple of times per month.
