Fatigue every afternoon - How can I get more energy?
I am 75 and am very tired every afternoon. I need a two hour nap. My blood work is good. Any comments that can help me get more energy?

Even a little push from oneself is very helpful.
It is wonderful to realize that by taking a break, not only do you get refreshed and energized but become more productive.
I think that many companies are starting to realize this, and some even have rooms, devoid of light and distractions to refuel during the workday.
I don't take a nap, but do put my feet up, with a good book for an hour every day. Usually tea is involved. And for me this works.
A little snack always help. I make beet humus and some pita bread. This is good if I am feeling a little peckish.
That sounds great, I'm going to try it. Thanks!
I am 86 years old and since my breast cancer journey began almost a year ago, I too take a nap almost every afternoon for a couple of hours. Sometimes I just nap lightly and sometimes I fall into deep dreams. I am so grateful that I am able to answer my body’s request. Otherwise I feel fine and stay active.
I try to trust my body to find the right flow of activity each day.
I react strongly to the weather.
I don't do so much in hot, damp weather.
Cooler weather energizes me.
I try not to be emotional about this!
I simply allow my body to tell me what I need. I am 71 and take an hour nap every day. I do set an alarm so that I don't oversleep. Just that bit of extra sleep gets me through the rest of the day. I do go to bed at 9pm and read for a little while before sleeping. I just seem to need more sleep that others, always have.
I’m 83 and I have been found finding lately that I get tired earlier in the day I seem to have trouble getting started in the morning too before I know it. It’s 4 o’clock and my daughter is coming home from her job. I just don’t like the fact that I don’t have much energy, mostly all day I guess as somebody else said it’s old age which I’m sure all of you will agree is no fun. Guess the only thing we can do is just keep putting 1 foot in front of the other and really tired sleep
I don't fight napping anymore! So far at 77 I don't need it everyday. What I have changed is following a strict go to bed time and get up time 90% of the time. The exceptions are early appointments and traveling. Takes a while to get back to normal after exceptions--worse when there is a time zone change; changing planes makes the trip longer.
Maybe a mild energy booster to see if it works or see a health advisor for recommendation.
