Iron Depletion in Blood related to COVID?

Posted by stellm @stellm, Jun 11, 2021

Has there been any reports of iron depletion in the blood after receiving the Pfizer vaccine?

Same. Nurse - work mandated vaccines and booster.
Is the iron infusion an ongoing need? Does it hold it or does the iron dwindle back down to need another?

I had 3 infusions about a year ago, back to donating blood about 6 months ago and so far so good.

Ask your doctor about a substitute.
Do you mean /helicobacter-pylori ?
Flagyl is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina, stomach, liver, skin, joints, brain and spinal cord, lungs, heart, or bloodstream.
After some research I found Amoxicillin is also prescribed for H. pylori

Anyone have health problems with the Moderna covid vaccine?

I'm not sure if getting the Moderna vaccine was the cause, but for the first time in my 71 year life my RBC count, just tested, is below the lowest low range. My husband's various blood levels also declined after the vaccine.

I also had the Moderna vaccine, last one was on 3/9/22. In May of 2022, I went for a physical. Slightly anemic, referred to an oncologist, repeat blood tests every 3-4 months. My last blood test was about a week ago. HGB is still the same, but iron level is now 26 mcg, and iron sat is now 8%. Everything else is stable. Doctor advised to double the iron supplements, to see if lab tests improve.

Good news finally... Have been taking OTC iron supplement since Jan. 21st Dr's visit. Went for blood work last week and saw Dr. yesterday... All numbers are now normal. Still get a little out of breath when bending but am able to do my walks as before and dizziness when getting up quickly has disappeared. Thank You to all who responded with positive comments. They were greatly appreciated. Be Good Be Well!

Yes. My husband has never had any history of anemia or low iron. He received the Pfizer vaccine in March. He began feeling more tired over the next two months. He saw his physician and she suspected some type of internal bleeding based on the blood test, He had an upper and lower endoscopy. No internal bleeding was found. They are going to try the camera endoscopy next week. We don't think this is going to reveal anything. His iron, ferritin and red blood cell count is extremely low. The only change in has been receiving the vaccine.

My wife who is 74 has no history of anemia and sees the doctor quarterly with semi annual blood tests due to type II diabetes. She had 3 Pfizer COVID vaccine inoculations. She suddenly was very tired and was severely anemic and the doctor suspected internal bleeding. She had upper and lower endoscopy and the intestinal camera. All were negative. She is now no longer anemic after taking significant iron supplements
. Her 70 year old female friend had the same experience as well as another female friend.
Anemia is detected by a blood test and you may have it but not know it until you have the specific blood test. I believe anemia after the vaccines is far more common but the full extent is not known due to the need for a blood test to confirm.

Iron… very low normal range. Iron saturation below normal at 17%. Fatigued after exerting the slightest. Heart pumps fast to get oxygen to body.
This condition had been on going for 9 months, Under VS Dr. Care. Doctor is stumped …I’m requesting hematologist and possibly cardiac screening….although EKG, Ultra Sound and Stress Test are good.
I am 77 year old male. Comments??

My iron binding is only4% so the liquid iron is not working. My physicians asst. wants to see me about iron infusions that I suggested after talking to a Hematologist. I was really fatigued too, then I got a unit of blood I felt better immediately. Another problem I have after getting the booster vaccine is my hair texture has changed, dry,cotton-like,thinning. A Herbologist told me to use coconut oil as a hair treatment. Tachycardia will subside after blood transfusion. At least it worked for me, I can do things again, laborious work outside, walk a few miles.

I realize this is an older topic, however my PCP has been monitoring my Iron, Ferritin, Hematocrit and Hemoglobin levels since June of 2022. All levels are below normal and despite all attempts to correct my levels/values, we've only been able to raise my Iron level slightly. I have been getting regular blood draws every 6 to 8 weeks to monitor and try different things to increase my deficient levels with little to no success. It seems clear this is related to the Pfizer COVID vaccine and booster I received, as I've NEVER had issues with my blood or these levels prior to receiving this vaccine. My primary concern (fear) is this leading to other serious health problems including the Anemia that I now have as a result of the aforementioned. I am a career Firefighter and was required to take the vaccine to keep my job. We have several other Firefighters that I work with whom also are suffering from the same issues as myself or problems with blood clots forming throughout their body. We all are doing what we can, but most of us aren't getting any remedies that are effective or working. Are there any treatments, experts or therapeutic care options we can explore to begin helping to correct these issues, is there any good advice someone can point us in a direction to? Thanks for any input!

My levels were very low Hemoglobin 6.3 then I got a unit of blood and my energy levels rose. Every month my hemoglobin increases,7.1, 9.1, 10.4. My hematocrit is at normal range now. although my iron binding is very low 4%. Iron infusion is next, I hear will help. Keep the faith insist on getting new blood and iron to heel what the vaccine did to your cells.

Anyone in this group fully recover from low Ferritin/Iron Saturation??

I did IV IRON late last summer but levels are down to 11 so here I go again with IV IRON...

I've been on an animal based diet with veggies for over a year, tried Heart & Soil Life Blood & Liver (keeps me out of anemia), Ferrorus Sulfate (constipated crazy), Nutrilite Iron Folic (keeps me out of anemia and platelets higher but Ferritin still low), Vitron C (nothing) - and now I'm suggested to take Feroglobin or a liquid Iron.

ANYONE find a solution to keep Ferritin up with IV Iron every 6 months? Hematologist is at a loss...

I am 66, female. I had the Pfizer vaccine spring of 2021. I was extremely exhausted within 6 weeks and slept over 12 hours a day. Sept 21 I was found to be anemic. I had 2 iron infusions. I do believe it was from the vaccination.
