Continued Post-Nasal Drip and Constant Mucus in Throat
I was sick the last week or January/first week of February. Home Test-negative, rapid PCR-negative. All COVID symptoms and known prolonged exposure to infected individuals make me believe it was COVID. Since then, I have had a tremendously hard time dealing with post-nasal drip and mucus collecting in my throat. It is clear, sticky and almost impossible to remove from throat by coughing or clearing my throat. Flonase does nothing, allergy pills do nothing. Had anyone else had an issue like this post COVID? How long did it last? What did you do to cope? Small problem in comparison to others that post here, I realize.

Covid did a number on my mucosa & salivary glands too. I get this thick slicky saliva all day long and I get choked on it at night. I have been to 5 doctors and a culture showed normal mouth bacteria. It is not thrush. I take 600 to 1200 mg of Guafenisin (Mucinex - over the counter) daily, use Cromalyn Spray (over the counter) & Asteline Spray (Prescription) and it does help. I also run a humidifier in my bedroom at night. Drinking lots of water helps some and chewing sugar free gum. Have your B12, D3, Zinc & Iron levels checked. My B12 was very low and was causing a metallic taste in my mouth and severe fatigue. The B12 injections did help remove the metallic taste. Covid did a number on a lot of my bloodwork for a couple of months and then it all returned to normal. I never had this until Covid last August. I feel for you and I am so sorry you are battling this. Praying for you. God Bless.
I am so sorry you are battling this. I am praying for you.
Had that too for a year.
Try focusing on lowering the cytokine levels that are associated with post-covid. Mainly IL-4 and IL-13 in this case.
So, Quercetin, Resveratrol, Curcumin and Omega 3-6-9 daily. (assuming no contraindications)
Thank you. This is a new one too me! I am doing the omega 3 & Curcumin. I will consider the others greatly.
Be blessed!
I have not had the operation you mentioned. It’s scary, because you get so desperate… I would try anything at this point! Actually? I have tried everything. I had this inability to swallow for the first time during my 2 month bout of Covid (3/20) and it went away when my flares settle. I hope your flare can settle down and that it stops for you, too.
I found this article in pub Med
Conclusion: Non-inflammatory tracheal hypersecretion, not yet reported in COVID-19, may be an additional long-term symptom. The hyperstimulation of tracheal goblet cells secreting mucus is 1 pathophysiological hypothesis.

I also have the glue type mucus, when I was in the emergency room with stomach and gas pain was not able to breath very well I took a plastic disk type dish and spit in it for about a hour then I showed the doctor how the glue type spit would not move when I tilted the dish, it's like having cystic fibrosis I feel like my whole body has become inflamed, the doctor had nothing to say he did give me a antibiotic which didn't help,I try to drink alot of water keep something to spit in try to keep from swallowing it, this virus seems to be very well engineered it seems to attach all are vital organs
When covid started I wonder if this sticky mucus was the reason so many people died with pneumonia. Are government tells us nothing ,everything is a fu_____ mystery.
I was thinking the same thing.
