I had a Ct in December 2016,showed 3 nodules 6mm,5mm&4mm in right upper lobe! Last week I had a Ct bc of a different issue and ER Dr told me I had 1 nodule in my right upper lobe that was 8mm and subpleural and a tiny subleural nodule in my left lower lone and small scattered lymph nodes throughout the paratracheal region? What does this mean?Pulmononlogist called finally after a few weeks and finally radiology compared both Cts and was told I need Pet Scan which is next Tuesday. I feel frozen and numb! He said it was triangular in shape and something about right hiler? Gosh I can't even think. Advice please

2 years ago this summer i went to the er with a fever of 103.5 in july. they broke my fever and sent me home. 2 days later i still felt like crap that night i was laying down on my couch and wasnt breathing right like i wasnt getting enough air i was scared so i went back to the er, they did a ct chest scan and bloodwork my blood levels at that time were all whacked and ct showed adrenal gland nodule thyroid nodule and some in my left and right lungs i was hospitalized there for 5days for them to try to figure out what was wrong with me ,they at first thought it was possible i had lyme disease because of my fever a few days prior and then they ruled that out then i was told they were sure i had something called mens disease something i had never heard of in my life i was sent home on the 5th day and needed follow ups on all the findings well 1st thing adrenal nodule was fine in doctors words all spots found in lungs were gone except 1 in my middle right lobe which measued 4mm in july 2016 .and for my thyroid it got so big in a 5month period that it had to come out so i had a total thyroidectomy in january 2017 it was not cancer. i would like to note that i have had lower back pain for years since in my early 20s, but as of about 9years ago now ive had back pian in my upper right side of my back behind were i would think my middle right lobe would be, i had xrays 9years ago on my chest area because i was a smoker they thought my upper back pain was caused by my lungs but lungs were clear at the time so i was sent for an ultrasound thinking it was possibly my gallbladder and was diagnosed with fatty liver disease non alcohol kind, so i was reffered to a GI dr he told me i shouldnt feel pain from fatty liver disease so im like ok why do i still feel pain in the same spot all these years later? I quit smoking for 6 years and just started up again about a year ago pain was still there the whole time it comes and goes but always in the same spot. i never thought lung cancer because i dont cough alot or any of that kind of stuff. buty now im starting to worry and have questions regarding symptoms and if that back pian is somehow related. so i had a follow up ct scan without contrast in april of 2017 and that 1same spot in right middle lobe was still there and now reads on report it a 7x2mm linear opacity, so my primary care doctor said ok well keep an eye on it and have another ct in a year well now its been a year and now ct scan with contrast this time says 1 in same spot is now 6mm in diameter with scarring, and theres a new found 1 5mm in diameter nodule near the apex of the left upper lobe and states it is of indeterminate significance.and states airway patency displayed through the segmental level. also states there is a new uncalcified less than 5mm in diameter nodule in the left upper lobe. there is a stable predominantly linear approx 6mm opacity in the lateral segment of the right middle lobe. there is a punctate calcified nodule in the lateral basilar segment of the right lower lobe.Does anybody out there have any insight for me in there experiances please and thank you ahead of time I would also like to add I am tired all the time

Hi @bartlett36, welcome to Connect.
It must be so frustrating to have many symptoms, positive test results and no answers.

You'll notice that I moved your message to an existing discussion in the Lung Health group called:

I think you appreciate connecting with @pattymac @llwortman @windwalker and others in this discussion. I encourage you to read through the past posts.

Nodules on your lungs do not necessarily mean that you have lung cancer. Here is some information about lung nodules; according to this article by Mayo Clinic “most lung nodules are noncancerous (benign).” Read more here: http://mayocl.in/2hf0oJm

Since the follow up CT scan shows the same nodule and a new one, what is the next step? Are you going for more tests?

thank you so much for your help. My primary care doctor told me i need to have another ctscan in 4months the radiologist suggested 3-6months so my doctor decided to make it in the middle at 4 she did not mention any more testing other than that

I am a nine year lung cancer survivor who was shockingly diagnosed with a 3cm tumor and rushed into life saving surgery.
I was SCARD whenlater I was told I had a 7cm nodule in my remaining right side lung. It was watched by my thorasic surgeon
for about 5 years and if passed through...which as I understand nodules MAY do.
Please, consider seeking a second opinion and make an appointment with a wise pulmonologist. Going to a larger clinic like Mayo
is the best idea, where last year I thought I heard they treated over 8,000 cases of lung cancer alone. Knowing you have that expert
eye will ease your fears.
I'm so happy you are on CONNECT! Let's stay connected. I will gladly follow you.
Hugs,
Linda

I only recently (Jan 2018) had a lobe removed due to lung cancer.. I'm fine. I would suggest tho' that you see an oncologist. If the nodes turn out to be cancerous, Lung cancer is one of the cancers that has made a lot of headway in cure and survival rates and there are a lot of people sharing your situation. Good luck to you. Just the word cancer was pretty scary for me. I exercised a lot to ease my stress and found someone to talk with.

I had a lobectomy 10 days ago for Stage 1 lung cancer. It came right out of the blue. I had a chest scan ordered by my cardiologist and they found a suspicious mass. They have always thought chest issues were due to Sjogrens. I am so grateful it was found at Stage 1. I am now in Rehab for therapy. My main problem is balance from a stroke I had in January and I have Psoriatic Arthritis, so back pain is an issue. I am still short of breath. I am a retired Physio by the way.

Lung Nodule, D-Dimer elevation and ANA +VE:

In June during my India trip left side Ribs pain started when breathing.I returned to US on July 5th and next day I visited primary care, he ordered CMP and X-RAY both are normal.nothing shown in the X-RAY.After 2 weeks I visited primary care again, then he checked EKG, it was normal. In my 3rd visit Primary care ordered bone scan which gave some clue about pleural effusion. After that i visited Pulomonologist, he checked ANA which came +VE,D-Dimer elevated(high). Then Pulomonologist ordered CT scan in which identified a patchy nodule, by this time pain was severe, lots of burping and incomplete yawning. For small burping and yawing back was hurting a lot.

After nodule identified in the lung, doctor put me on LEVOFLOXACIN for one week then pain was not stopped when breath but still frequent burping issue there.I finished medication on 09/27, after 10 days ribs pain started again. I am 47 yrs old, hypothyroid patient, previously i was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (since 2010).These things are scaring me and making me sleepless. Need advise.

Chest X-Ray report (07/12/2018)
"PA and lateral chest images. Heart size and contour are normal. Lungs are clear with normal pulmonary vascularity. No pleural effusion, hilar or

“Mild asymmetric increased uptake in the left posterior hemithorax. Tracer is distribution is otherwise un remarkable”

CT Scan report (09/18/2018)
"As per regular modules identified within the superior segment left lower lobe measuring together an area of 2.4x2.2 cm.Possibly post infectious. Trace loculated left pleural effusion."

I was just diagnosed with multiple pulmonary embolisms in both lungs and both upper and lower lobes. I have been on Eliquis for 3 1/2 days now, and today was the 1st day since Friday that I’m experiencing weakness in my legs again…and I felt a little cramping in my calves as the day went on. What should I do?? Do I need to be concerned?
