Slow degradation of my vision. Seeing a retina specialist

@rosemarya The surgeon was kind when I was there yesterday and reminded me to call should I feel worse or if I'm not getting better soon. Finally got the call from the Admin person who releases records. Will pick up a copy tomorrow. He asked how I was feeling and told him my ears were still ringing and I sometimes felt wobbly when getting up from a sitting position. He seemed concerned. told him I'd be seeing my primary care dr Thursday. Thanks for the link to Mayo. Will take a look there. I am so sorry to hear that you were bumped in the head before your surgery! You certainly didn't need that added complication.

While I've never had a concussion myself, I know that they can take some time to heal and I hope that yours is a quick recovery.

Were there any specific instructions to follow from the concussion? I hope you will post after you see your doctor on Thursday.

I'll also be praying for your healing and courage.

@hopeful33250, Thanks Teresa. No one gave me instructions except to rest and not to lift anything, but that was before the concussion symptoms occurred. No specific care instructions for the concussion. I'm not that energetic right now so I'm not too active. Will get info from my dr on thurs. Will update. Thanks again. Bonnie.

I am praying for you. Does anybody know if anything can be done for my failing vision: I have had cataract surgery which has not helped. I have glaucoma and macular degeneration. I am slowly going blind (plus dry eyes). Can anybody help me please?

I have so many health issues, I just don't want to list them at the moment. However, I do want to share with you this: I wasn't blessed with any musical ability whatsoever. I have no rhythm, cannot carry a tune, cannot dance. My husband told me I danced like Howdy Doody. I was told by my music teach I was monotone. I was even kicked out of the children's choir at church. Yes, it's all true. I just have to laugh at it all. God did give me a great sense of humor. When I get to the promised land, I will sing and dance!

@Dearbonitay, I also have dry eyes and bleeding behind them. I also have glaucoma and macular degeneration with poor reading vision even with eyeglasses. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART: Was introduced to a new (expensive) opthamolic drops called XIIDRA After using this medication for about 2/3 months my reading went from 20/40 to 20/25. . Still have poor sight cannot understand this. But ask your opthamolagist about this. This is s newer drug.

Thank you for sharing delightful story of your "musical abilities". It gave me a good chuckle and reminded me of my husband who also was told my a music teacher that he had no musical talents and not to bother learning an instrument or join the school choir. He has a fabulous sense of humor too, and this is a favorite story he often tells new acquaintances. It usually brings a laugh and often makes others feel more comfortable opening up and talking about themselves, too! A great sense of humor is a wonderful gift and glad you shared your's - thanks again!

Last September I was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration on my left eye. I was going to school when I work full time as a medical coder, I spend long hours in front of computer. First, I thought I was having eye strain because of watching a computer monitor for a long time every day, but one day I noticed I saw a black circle in the middle with my left eye. I have had a cornea abrasion previously and had a similar vision change so I made an appointment with eye doctor. It tuned out I had Macular Degeneration. He said mine was a wet type which progresses rapidly. I am 54 years old, and he said 54 years old is young to have AMD but I got it because I am very near sighted. I got Lucentis injection and it helped to get some vision back. However, he told me there is no cure for Macular degeneration. My fear is whether my right eye would get it or not. He said there is possibility have both eyes...Last month I noticed my right eye vision started being very distorted. I called him right away. He said I got it on my right eye as well...I got Lucentisis injection on my right eye and doing ok for now. I have a great doctor and I am determined to do everything I can to slow the progression!! I am now looking for some clinical research on Wet type macular degeneration. Macular Degeneration is very scary, but I believe there will be a solution someday!!
