NJH Patients
Hello!
I have an upcoming appointment at NJH for outpatient treatment. I made the appointment upon first hearing about my MAC diagnosis, however...I am not feeling sick in the least! My diagnosis consisted of both CT and sputum positive results. Currently I feel like I should I delay my visit to NJH until when / if I ever feel unwell due to this condition. My kids say go now to nip it in the bud...What to do?

I started there in Aug 2022 after meeting my deductible and the billing went fairly well. I got one $31 bill. After starting the new year, Anthem has taken a more deniable approach and I have my procedures done at my local hospital and cross my fingers that I can get the reports and images to NJH. I must order all images on CD and must hand carry them to them. NJH has a pretty antiquated IT dept. I hear they are switching to MyChart finally in May.
Thanks. I feel so much better.
I had a similar call from a Radiologist after a CT and had an Echocardiogram last spring.
Then 6 months later, NJH ordered a Echocardiogram with bubbles. The bubbles test for a hole between heart chambers. Both tests were negative.
Went to NJH for second opinion to treat MAC that was found on a bronchoscopy after l had had persistent cough for 3 years. The ID doctor would have put me on the 3 TB medications had l stopped her saying "l am going for second opinion to NJH"
at NJH they told me on the second of 10 days l was scheduled "you do not need to be treated at this point" ....the official criteria at that point were...2 positive cultures and evidence of bronchiectasis on CAT scan.
the only sputum that was positive was from local bronchoscopy. the NJH CAT showed no bronchiectasis . I still return to NJH for follow up...but so far no antibiotics indicated.
l have never paid a bill...l am on traditional medicare and a supplement.
Thank you for your thoughts. Will be there monday and looking forward to hearing what they say.
Could you all please tell me where NJH IS? Also elaborate on the process you went through to get in to see them I would be very grateful. Is that the Jewish Hospital in Colorado?
Yes, in CO.
In Denver…not a hospital…a large clinic.

Do you still cough? If not, what stopped it?
one of the tests done in the initial 10 day visit was to check for a condition....which name l can never remember....where l cough...but if I use the technique taught to me in a session with the speech therapist. I can stop the cough. I also have learned to take a puff of the inhalor...levalbuterol. Which l found out about at NJH . it works same as it's cousin Albuterol but theoretically l feel won't trigger any Atrial fib which l recently discovered l have.
