I'm fairly new to this thread on the Benzos but this is concerning if correct? I have not read anything about this medication being tied to dementia at this point? I can tell you most people are deficient in Vitamin D and this has proven to be tied to dementia which is concerning. I know a large percentage of people would have low results if tested for D.
I have read that, the benzo my wife has been taking, Temazapam, and is hopelessly addictited to, is associated with having low VIT-D when tested. My wife, has always taken Vit-D 2000iu, to help keep her bones strong. But now is trying to take 4000 iu per day, because of this Temazepam Effect . I have also read that normal VIT-D helps us all with being able to sleep... I am quite upset at our psychiatrist, that downplays that benzo's are addicting, and claims there are no other sleeping drugs that equal to or better than Temazepam... very frustrating.
Yeah, I have, it's frankly somewhat alarming. Unfortunately I'm between a rock and a hard spot. Have seen 2 sleep disorder doctors, one told me I had mild apnea while other said I don't have enough to be considered apnea at all? First one order a cpap which doesn't solve my issue at all so I suspect 2nd doctor is right? Problem is I have severe sleep/choking issues that happen at one hour into sleep give or take a few minutes and not every night. These are horrific and 2nd guy prescripoed Klonopin which actually stops them for most part but I do notice some tingling issues and sleep body vibrations. I originally thought these were covid or vaccine related and now I'm wondering if it's the Klonopin. I may actually try and get a third opinion. I was only taking .5 mg at bedtime and now have just cut the pill in half but it isn't quite as effective unfortunately. Crazy stuff as otherwise I'm healthy 65 year old who has had very few issues with my health and never anything serious. I wish there was an alternative to stop these issues but even second guy doesn't know why I'm having them and at almost exact time when they occur. Thanks!
They nEvEr even advised me of the long term effects from taking this medication.. I have a lot of issues that I shouldn't have at 48 like the beginning stages of dementia and I know it has a lot to do with good ol Klonopin
Please google klonopin/ lawsuits, and see what comes up. This is the way I have checked out medications I have felt were harmful. My other suggestion is to look into Dr. Daniel Amen. He has books, PBS shows, and Clinics. He has helped people with beginning dementia, and brain injured athletes.
That’s why I told you to hire an attorney. If you can prove it you’ve got a great case. With proper medical records you would have a great chance of finding an attorney to take your case.
What is your suggestion? Eliminate benzodiazepines? For some people they are therapeutic and provide quality of life that otherwise doesn’t exist. I think there is a risk/benefit to every medication and—after proper informed consent—we should be able to take what helps our quality of life.

The studies are mixed and all over the place in regards to Benzos causing dementia. Nothing definitive.

They are but you're talking to someone who suffers from it and I'm only 48

They need to do something people have been dying or want to left and right from these meds.
Why is the government letting them get away with this so long , how many have to suffer and die????
Literally no one cares!
