Pacemaker and and spinal stenosis

Posted by elizaolson @elizaolson, Jan 15, 2023

I have a pacemaker as well as spinal stenosis. It is my L4 and L5 that is affected. I am wondering if it is OK to use lazar treatment along with my acupuncture treatments.

Any information would be helpful.
Thank you.

Hi @elizaolson. You might want to check with your doctor first. Here is some information from Mayo Clinic on the topic.

"Can a person with a pacemaker have acupuncture?
Acupuncture that involves applying mild electrical pulses to the needles may potentially interfere with a pacemaker's operation."

My acupuncturist doesn't use needles with electrical pulses. It is a separate treatment. I will see what my heart doctor has to say the next time he calls.
