Sweat that is ruining my life(Help)
Hi everyone, I would like to apologize in advance for such a lengthy post but to start off,I’m 18 years old 5’11 175 lbs male and this past year I’ve been dealing with excessive sweating usually from the armpit and inside the buttcrack area. It didn’t bother me that much until On October 24, I started having this burning/heat sensation on the upper buttcrack part or i would say my tailbone area. That area would sweat so much and I’ve observed the sweat occurs when I walk outside, run do any physical activity and also during urination. After I’m done urinating, I would feel the sweat coming out of that tailbone area. Ever since october my sweat overall has become alot worse. My armpits would sweat even in the cold and that heat sensation I’ve been feeling in my tailbone, i have also started feeling it in between my groin area. It would also sweat there when i walk. This between the groin area sweat started probably on Nov 24. These excessive sweating symptoms have made me so anxious and depressed. I can’t even wear anything but black and white shirts and basketball shorts or people will notice the sweat has seeping in my clothes. Additionally, I think this may be related but at the beginning of the year probably late February. My testicle area on the left started feeling pain. Then one day, I peed myself while in class without even realizing it. Good thing no one else noticed and i quickly changed my pants. So I went to the doctors and said everything was fine. I think they x rayed the lower back area and found no issues. Then all hell wouldn’t stop as the following months later I felt a small not growing lump on my neck which the doctor thinks is a lymph node. And now it’s November and during the 16th, I noticed two hard lumps on the back of my head but I think it might be because i had a bad cold but I have had it. I’m visiting the doctor’s tomorrow to consult about my excessive sweat and if any of these may be related to it. I didn’t even excessively sweat last year only this year when all of these happened. I don’t know if I should see a neurologist, urologist, dermatologist or get a biopsy. What makes me so scared is what if this is lymphoma, a type of cancer, an infection or anything uncurable... What if my excessive sweating on the tailbone and pretty much my body swear will never be cured. All these make me so scared. Makes me sad how all those people my age are enjoying life while I suffer these delibirating symptoms. Does anyone have any idea what this tailbone, groin and armpit sweat could possibly be? (I know its hyperhidrosis but could it be from another cause)

Hi, I've noticed that in the last couple of days I've started to sweat more. I've noticed my hands start sweating when I'm holding my mouse and resting my hand on the keyboard, which hasn't been happening before. Also when I went to sleep on Sunday I was night sweating to the point where I woke up, noticed my shirt was wet at which I open a widow to let some air in and when I woke up in the morning there was no sweat. I'm a 20 year old guy.

Back to you @caine, have you been experience more stress than normal recently? Or have you had any physical or dietary changes recently?
Hi Caine...my sympathy goes out to you. When I went to Mayo in Rochester they tested me for everything and came up with an idea...It may be hormonal. They put me on hormones...I am a woman...I do feel better...not perfect, but better. It took about 2-3 months to see any improvement. Stress I think also can be a factor in the whole picture. I would consider going to your doc and suggestion they do a hormone panel....it may be your answer. I hope so for your sack.
Hi, I have been a big sweater since I was in high school. My face and hair get drenched. If doing pretty much anything outside I have to wear a head band to keep the sweat out if my eyes. The rest of my body Sweats but not to the extent of my head and face. My doctor told me I must be a sweater.
Hello im 18 and i have exact same problems,i'm a pessimist too and i wanna know what happened to you and how are you in genereal right now?
Rule out lymphoma. Usually night sweats, but the lymph nodes are troubling.
You have a Mayo doctor?
Hi @ppp. Having an overactive perspiration problem is the pits, isn’t it? Pun intended! I suffered from this for most of my teen and early adult life. Growing up, I wore clothes with printed fabrics that wouldn’t show the huge wet stains on my back or under arms. PE in high school, where we had to learn social dancing, was horrifically embarrassing having to hold hands with strangers. Anxiety played a big roll at the time.
As an adult female, I learned a few tricks like finding some antiperspirants that actually do work. There were times I applied it across my forehead under my makeup to keep me from perspiring at special events. So I feel your pain.
I found an interesting article this morning talking about excessive sweating and some of the potential causes and treatments to help make life normal again. Occasionally there can be underlying medical causes. So it wouldn’t hurt to talk this over with your primary care provider.
A dermatologist is your best bet for getting long term treatment options.
Here’s the article that was on Yahoo today. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/signs-of-excessive-sweating-222345169
I hope you find some relief! Have you discussed this with a doctor?
Thank you so much for your information,i have extra sweat only on my tailbone area and not much on other parts, and i had pilonidal cyst about 4 years ago and it healed,i thought it was it for a long time, but it hasnt any pus or blood in it,i am now concerned because it isn't a full body thing and its just in that tailbone area
It might be a good idea to have your primary care physician check out the site of the cyst just to make sure there’s no evidence of return.
If you’re only perspiring in the tailbone area, I wonder if that was possibly affected by the surgery? Did this extra perspiring start after the surgery? Although that lower back area is a pretty common place for perspiration.
Does it bother you from the perspective of “Why am I sweating there, is this abnormal” or is it from sweating hard enough to cause embarrassment?
If it’s embarrassment, I think you might appreciate this story and maybe it will help you out if it’s from worrying about butt-crack sweat. I can’t believe the timing on this in relation to seeing your post!
Our neighbors have teen boys. Very athletic and they naturally perspire a lot. The oldest just graduated high school and had to give the valedictorian speech. He was worried about getting up in front of everyone with ‘butt-crack’ perspiration showing on his pants if he stood up. His mom fixed him up with panty liners adhered to the Inside back of his skivvies. LOL. He freaked at first but then let her do it! It worked by absorbing excess sweat. No one knew!!! And, he hit her up for some extras to pack when he went off to the dorm. That’s a brave kid! 😅
Yep, as an 18 year old, that’s the last thing you want to be seen buying at a grocery store. But if it’s the embarrassment aspect of perspiring from your tailbone area, maybe ask your mom for some advice?
No i didn't have any surgery for the cyst,it healed by itself.and yes my main discomfort is the feeling that why my sweat is extra on that special area.the boy that you talked about has same problem as me,i just graduate from high school and my family gave me some sort of solution like you said😂,thank you for your message and sorry for my not so good english
