Sweat that is ruining my life(Help)

Posted by pl4311 @pl4311, Nov 26, 2018

Hi everyone, I would like to apologize in advance for such a lengthy post but to start off,I’m 18 years old 5’11 175 lbs male and this past year I’ve been dealing with excessive sweating usually from the armpit and inside the buttcrack area. It didn’t bother me that much until On October 24, I started having this burning/heat sensation on the upper buttcrack part or i would say my tailbone area. That area would sweat so much and I’ve observed the sweat occurs when I walk outside, run do any physical activity and also during urination. After I’m done urinating, I would feel the sweat coming out of that tailbone area. Ever since october my sweat overall has become alot worse. My armpits would sweat even in the cold and that heat sensation I’ve been feeling in my tailbone, i have also started feeling it in between my groin area. It would also sweat there when i walk. This between the groin area sweat started probably on Nov 24. These excessive sweating symptoms have made me so anxious and depressed. I can’t even wear anything but black and white shirts and basketball shorts or people will notice the sweat has seeping in my clothes. Additionally, I think this may be related but at the beginning of the year probably late February. My testicle area on the left started feeling pain. Then one day, I peed myself while in class without even realizing it. Good thing no one else noticed and i quickly changed my pants. So I went to the doctors and said everything was fine. I think they x rayed the lower back area and found no issues. Then all hell wouldn’t stop as the following months later I felt a small not growing lump on my neck which the doctor thinks is a lymph node. And now it’s November and during the 16th, I noticed two hard lumps on the back of my head but I think it might be because i had a bad cold but I have had it. I’m visiting the doctor’s tomorrow to consult about my excessive sweat and if any of these may be related to it. I didn’t even excessively sweat last year only this year when all of these happened. I don’t know if I should see a neurologist, urologist, dermatologist or get a biopsy. What makes me so scared is what if this is lymphoma, a type of cancer, an infection or anything uncurable... What if my excessive sweating on the tailbone and pretty much my body swear will never be cured. All these make me so scared. Makes me sad how all those people my age are enjoying life while I suffer these delibirating symptoms. Does anyone have any idea what this tailbone, groin and armpit sweat could possibly be? (I know its hyperhidrosis but could it be from another cause)

@p14311 - are you in school? if you do not get help from your dr appt today, I would go to a different dr ASAP!!! Seems that one could help direct you to the place/dr where you need to go!

Hi @p14311 I wanted to welcome you to Connect. These symptoms you have been going through must be so gut wrenching, especially not knowing why it is happening.

You mentioned that you are going to the doctor today. Have you had your appointment yet? What did they say? As @barbarn suggested, where they able to direct you to a specialist that could help?

Yes, I’ve had my appointment today. The doctor said that she wants to get some tests done but I ate in the morning today so I have to fast and then go do the tests tomorrow. So far, I need to take the urine drug screen test, cortisol and then thyroid panel for tomorrow morning. The doc said she’ll look onto it further after we get the results. I got so scared, I didn’t even tell her about the lumps on my head and the burning/tingling sensation and sweating on my tailbone and inner groin areas. I’ll make sure to tell her those too on the next visit. I know I don’t have the place to say this because I am a pessimist but I’m always thinking what if they don’t find a way to help cure the excessive sweating especially the inner groin and tailbone area.

That all sounds like a great first step. Be sure to tell your doctor about all your symptoms so that they can give you the treatment, if any, you need. Continue to keep us updated!

@pl4311 You really do need to tell your doctor everything, even if it seems minor and not related. I discovered when I had non-alcoholic cirrhosis. My doctor did actually know all my symptoms but had trouble adding them all up, a number of them you never would have thought would have come from liver problems.

I finally got my results for the cortisol, thyroid and urine test. Everything was normal. They would need to refer me to a dermatologist and a primary doctor since that was a pedriatrician who had me do the tests. They probably meant because i turned 18 last month, because they moslty specialize with children. Im wondering now if the sweating may be caused by an infection, nerve system problems or at worst cancer. I haven’t experienced this excessive sweating until probably late April or May. The symptoms just kept piling up ever since that time my testicle area started hurting but that’s all gone now but the sweating has made everything unbearable.

@pl4311 It sounds as if you are doing all of the right things to get to the bottom of this. Try to not dwell on the worst possible problems, it more than likely is something not major. If you keep thinking about negative possibilities you are ruining your days thinking about them -- be positive, and please keep us informed. I know nothing about this but I do hope for the best for you, and I am interested also from the point of gaining knowledge.

I sweat profusely in my hair and face, does anyone have this, and what can you do to alleviate it?

Hi @2beagles and welcome to Connect. You may have noticed I moved your post to this existing discussion on sweating as I hope the information contained in it can be beneficial to you.

I wanted to introduce you to fellow member @pl4311 in hopes that he will come back and join in the discussion.

Back to you @2beagles how long has this been happening? Have you spoken to a doctor about it?

I did not see any discussions on sweating, please direct me there. I have had this for a few years. I am looking for coping solutions. I went to Mayo in Rochester and there doesn't seem to be a cause for my sweating. It is very awkward.
