Brachioradial pruritus. (severe itching on forearms and neck, no rash).
Does anyone know of this. I think its rare but does exist. My neurologist does not know about this. I have compression between my c5 and c6 cervical disk and have had alot of sun damage to my skin.

If u read my previous reply then read this one also. I met a girl who has BRP exactly the same as me and she was also put on “Amitriptyline” by an emmenent dermatologist about 8 years ago and she would also recommend them as they are used for nerve problems and they believe BRP is caused by nerve endings due to neck or back problems they work 95% for her. It is also very important to keep the arms moisturized (several times a day) and covered as it is photo senitive. Good luck.
You are so right about doctors not understanding autoimmune problems - but there is good news for you - contact a qualified NUTRITIONIST WHO WILL order all the necessary tests and then they treat you. Make sure the NUTRITIONIST has the correct qualiying degree. Doctors study how to manage medical problems AND PRESCRIBE
DRUGS which takes the pain away T. G. , but few Doctors know how to find out the cause of the problem and treat The cause. Nutricianist do know and most importantly they are not involved in any way with drug companies. Food is a huge part of the treatment and guess what “IT WORKS”, Remember not a DIETICIAN they are HAPPY TO RECOMMEND DRUGS. I have an autoimmune problem, one piece of advice I was given was to stay free of gluten (No I am not celiac) Nutritionist arrange blood tests you may never have heard of. Hope this helps.

Hi again. I ordered the cervical traction device by overnight from Amazon, and I'm wearing it as I type. So far so good. It's a soft, 3-level inflatable collar with a hand pump to inflate it. It's quite comfortable to wear. It feels fully inflated and it's definitely keeping my head up. Strangely it came with no directions at all, so I'm going to follow @sgmjohnny's advice and wear it for maybe an hour twice a day. So far there's no itching while wearing it, and I had bad itching last night and this morning that required an ice pack.
I will definitely keep everyone posted on how it's working.
I really hope it works for you. Please keep us posted.
