Unidentified abdominal pain

I wasnt sure where to ask this, but I've had severe abdominal pain for 16 years. Pain radiating from my back all the way around and sharp upper right abdomen pain. Lasted a few hours-a day for 16 years a couple times a year. Then recently i had an episode that went off and on for two weeks straight. Now when it happens theres pressure all around my abdomen and back, and sharp pains randomly around my torso, no sharp pain felt when they push on my abdomen, all blood and urine tests good, xray and ultrasound show nothing. Doesnt seem to be linked to eating seems to happen at random. Anyone experienced anything like this?

so glad you received a cure. do you think that the pains were in any way caused by slow motility? that seems to be what my daughter has.

I am not aware of slow mobility causing the pain. The pain is coming from nerves that are trapped against the stomach wall. If you google ACNES and/or Carnett test it is all explained there. The surgeon in Phoenix was amazing.

Hi I am a 24 year old female I have been having upper right and left abdominal on and off consistently since Aug 2021. I have also lost 30 lbs so far since then without a major appetite change. So far MRI, CTA, colonoscopy, endoscopy have all came back normal. I had a duplex ultrasound done which showed narrowing in a couple of the arteries in my abdomen but the CTA and MRI didn’t show anything. What do I do next.

I also had epigastric pain-after a million tests that showed nothing-I found through this site that is was MALS (Mesenteric Artery Ligament Syndrome). Do some research and check MALS Awareness on Facebook. Hope this helps.

@amm97 - Is there any chance you could have celiac disease?
CTs and MRIs normal, but abnormal biopsy of small bowel or antibodies present. Check with your primary doctor for this. There could be weight loss with this too secondary to malabsorption.
Don’t go gluten free now- if biopsy is needed, it will alter the intestinal mucosa.
Still consult with another vascular surgeon.

Hello, I am sorry took so long to get back, unfortunately I had 2 episodes that left me bedridden on & off since I started the post. Yes, It’s been a while but I have had a Celiac test which was negative.

I have also lost 30 lbs so far since then without a major appetite change. Ive already had my gallbladder out in 2015. So far MRI, CTA, colonoscopy, endoscopy have all came back normal. I had a duplex ultrasound done which showed narrowing in a couple of the arteries in my abdomen but the CTA and MRI didn’t show anything. Recently I’ve been experiencing extreme fatigue even though I feel like I have been sleeping good. The doctors still have no idea what is causing my symptoms.

We’ve tried a list of different medications and nothing has worked. The only medicine I’m on is Prilosec and I’ve been on that for 3 years and use it to prevent acid reflux.

It sure sounds like you have Abdominal Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment Syndrome. It’s relatively easy to diagnose. First take the Carnett test. It is shown on YouTube. If it shows positive next is to get trigger point shots into the pain area. The shots only gives temporary relief. Third and final step is surgery to cut the nerves causing the pain. There is a surgeon in Phoenix, Dr Thomas Gillespie, who does perform this surgery Robotic Laparoscopically. It’s a relatively “simple” 30 minute procedure. I had this done on me 9/2/2021. Left hospital CURED. I’d be happy to discuss with you. Jeff

Have the same problem ——Gaul bladder taken out —no change. (nothing wrong with GB)
Nothing visible on ultrasound or MRI. Trigger point injections give me some 80%
relief for 4 to 6 months.
