Covid and AFib Connection?
Hello Everyone,
I am curious and would like to ask this group a question. I have AFib but had not had an event for over a year except for last November. In early February of this year I took the Phizer Vaccine for Covid and had several Afib events with one lasting over a month even with cardioversion. I ended up having an ablation in May and the electrophysiologist found an enlarged and scarred atrium.
I have been doing well and am still on Flecainade, Metoporal and Eliquis. He is about to take the Flecainade away. It is time for my booster shot and I am scared that it will put me into Afib again. My Electrophysiologist and Cardiologist at Mayo said they don't feel that the vaccine had anything to do with my Afib events starting up again.
Has anyone here experienced this? I am debating whether or not to cancel my appointment next week or just take the shot. My doctors said it is better to take the booster than to get Covid.
Thoughts?
Thank You...Blessings to all of you during this trying time. CeCe55

Where can that heart report be found?
I had vertigo and felt faint after moderns booster..
Look on line for UK doc, Dr. Campbell's walk through of Dr. Steven Gundry's initial brief on this.. He concludes with the hope that more complete info. will indeed be forth coming, urging scientific follow up, bare min. on the inflammatory marker issue, and hoping CDC will look into this as well.
I went back in AFIB after my booster Pfizer shot! I also now have a LAA blood clot and cannot be cardioverted or have my ablation done! This has been a struggle as I have symptoms I feel with my Afib. I believe the booster caused this! It was the very next morning!
I am so sorry to hear this, I had problems after the first Pfizer series. It was not Afib. My bloodwork changed significantly with a possible diagnosis of lymphoma. This was scary; I worked with a specialist. My blood tests are not yet normal but much closer to normal. Other symptoms were consistent with lymphoma and have subsided. I’m hoping for the all clear when I retest. I do not plan to get another vaccine until it goes through more thorough testing and actually prevents the disease as well as transmission, (as other vaccines do). I I hoped that the vaccine would prevent hospitalization; yet I know people who were also boosted and were seriously ill and hospitalized with the latest variant. I am overwhelmed with the lack of clarity and support on all of this. Thank you for sharing your experiences, and I hope you get the help and answers you need and that this site does not stop sharing our experiences. If anyone had an experience like mine, I would appreciate hearing from you.
As I wrote before AFib incident after booster..long pause..feel not a coincidence..nothing after first two shots.vertigo..felt faint but did not..maybe dehydrated.or hungry..
Had the Moderna booster in late Oct, then the night after Thanksgiving dinner (and too much to drink), my Apple Watch notified me of possible AFIB. Same warning next two nights, so as a precaution, went to the ER. Hooked up to a monitor for 90 minutes — everything normal. Fast forward to January: after a couple more episodes, went to my GP and explained what had happened. Wore a heart monitor for 2 wks which confirmed what my watch had been telling me. So … after lots of “research” and counseling, today I took my first dose of Eliquis! Hoping for the best. I’m 71 and have not other risk factors.
WOW! I read your post and thought I was reading about myself. (See my story posted this morning). Did Moderna cause this to happen? Possibly, but I also feel that with a test population in the 100’s of millions, there are bound to be cases like ours and others that have told their stories.
Alcohol is one of the major triggers. "...and too much to drink". Unfortunately even a drink or two can do it. If it were the vaccine it would have happened within a few days I think (but who really knows).
I had a wicked case of toxic myopathy from eliquis, took 95% of my walking ability at about a month in, 2.5 weeks off getting energy back in my legs. Eliquis was pure poison to me, the worst thing that ever happened to me taking circulation evergreen for my dvt recovery.
