What's outside of your picture window today?

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

WOW, awesome pictures, @loribmt.
The Merrimack River runs along the border of our town and there are bald eagles nesting there always, they close the walking path during the time of the year when they have their young. I have yet to see one but it seems as if everyone else in town has!

We also had them on our lake in Maine, but again everyone has spotted them but me. I guess I must just walk around in a cloud or something! I do see the loons though, but they are all over the place.

Far too soon, Scott. Not ready for fall...but, we still have a month of never know how hot or whe. We have a hurricane, often in September for northern Florida...but it can get pretty hot. October should bring some cooler weather.
I used to spend a week or so in the NC mountains in September. Had a place overlooking the valley to Granfather's Mountain. Loved that place, almost moved there permanently, but couldn't deal with the car, ice,snow. Good move, I suppose.
Beautiful pics and will get prettier yet!

I agree @ess77 A bit too soon, but we have been in an extreme drought up here so I am happy to see any color other than brown 🙂 This shot was last night's sunset. I'm a sucker for the sunsets on our beach.

Eagles do the wing (like the breaststroke) stroke! It's wonderful to see, isn't it? I had never seen an eagle in person until a couple of years ago. I watch the Decorah Eagles online (https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/decorah-eagles/) and one afternoon I was at my desk and all of a sudden a huge shadow appeared on the lawn in front of me and there it was! A bald eagle. They are very large. We also live very near a river and have a lot of Ospreys who need to keep out of their way!

I’d never seen eagles outside of a nature center until I was in my 30s? Then we rented a cottage for a week in northern Wisconsin. I was sitting on the dock mid morning with our Golden and all of a sudden this huge black shadow blotted the sun from behind! Felt a rush of air and this Eagle swooped and grabbed a fish out of the water just a few feet in front of me!! My heart was in my throat and the dog left a trail of whizzz all the way to the house!! 😂
It’s wonderful to see these magnificent birds making such a healthy comeback!
I’m still having huge internet issues here so I can’t post my video of the eagle swimming. But youtube has several similar videos. Just do a quick search. They indeed do the breast stroke!! Who knew??!!

We have Osprey too and wow, watching them make a dive into the water at full speed is amazing! First time I saw that happen I watched this large bird diving towards the water, expecting it to veer off before impact! I was stunned to see it actually go into the lake. Took several seconds before it rose to the top and then took off with a fish!! Nature is really fascinating!

Beautiful, Scott! I’m a sucker for sunsets too… it’s a mixed pleasure to see them right now. They’re so gorgeous, but brought to us by all the ash from the wild fires.
