What's outside of your picture window today?

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Nov 25, 2020

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what’s going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@auntieoakley

Final attempt here. Due to the drought my maples are not beautiful this year, but due to the blessed rain we have these. Reference point, I am a tall girl with giant feet. Lol

Thank you, There was two pictures but it kept rejecting for a couple of reasons, I said ok, one more try. This is the largest one at about 6”or 7” across. The shoes are wool clogs by halflinger.

😂😂 Oh honey, you’ll be just fine. Giggle. Nothing a good fur-fix can’t take care of! Here’s today’s therapy moment. My daughter’s cat, Alvin. Apparently there’s a bird outside he’s finding quite interesting.

Hi, @loribmt and everybody. I'm only kidding. I'm just fine!
I have to milk it for all it's got, don't I? giggle.
I'm extremely busy downsizing and decluttering my full size apartment in preparation for heading to my tiny bedroom at long term care. I'm fine with that too! I'm kinda' excited for this new chapter in my life. 😊
Cheers. Laurie

@loribmt. Oh, I love the alert little kitty picture. I had a cat just like that back in the day, named Georgia (O'Keefe). I called her Georgie. Sweetest cat I ever had. ❤

Oh you know I’m just kidding right back!! LOL. I know you’re fine. After all you’ve been through?? Pfft, being forgotten for a vaccine would not be something that would rattle you for very long.

I’m so glad you’re feeling better these past few weeks and being able to work on your big move!! I love how you embrace changes, m’dear. You are one tough cookie! Hugs.

Chilly enough for frozen sparkly beads to form on the lake weeds in northern Wisconsin. @ess77, @jakedduck1 you don’t have this where you live! @artist01, it won’t be long until you get the familiar cold winds up there! ☺️

@loribmt and all….Nope! Not ever here, I'm afraid. Beautiful, my dear. It snowed and stayed overnight in the '80s. We've had 3 good snowfalls and a really wicked ice storm one year in the '70s, No one in Jax knows how to drive in the ice or snow, not really and nor many anyway, so it was a hoot. Most of the city stayed off the streets completely. The bridges over the St. Johns River were all closed down, really dangerous, and might end in the water. It was fun, tho, kind of, but my store was closed and I couldn't get across town to open it for a couple of days One of my staff opened for me as soon as she could get out and about. That, my dear, was a lifetime ago. Our winters are not even winter as you know it.

Today it's in the "80. Have been upstairs all day. Ck'd the feeders several times out the window, but not much activity I saw, except of course my precious pesky squirrels. I must spend more time enjoying the patio. A neighbor one street down called yesterday and came down with a chocolate ice cream cone in hand. We went for a bit of a walk eating the treat and chatting. She lives alone but has a daughter and family in town and sees them often. But, she's lonely. 'Short walk as I couldn't breathe well, but after another friend with her dog joined us, we chatted and I walked back as they went on. They're both in pretty good shape, with normal issues like knees, back, bp, etc. We will do this again soon….

blessings, to all,
elizabeth

Aw, Elizabeth I’m happy you have a walking buddy, even if it’s just for a short jaunt! Gets the blood moving.
Oh my gosh, yes the south is not equipped to handle snow! Happily, that doesn’t happen too often down there. We’ll be heading down the end of this week for 6-8 weeks. Back home for the holidays and then return to Fl to finish out the winter. We’re not near Jacksonville or I’d come visit! Bummer. But we’ll be in the same “state of mind”. Lol Sunny and warm.

@artist01, @ess77, @jakedduck1 and fellow ‘window watchers’. Well, this isn’t outside my window but it was next to me on a walk yesterday in a Florida state park. I zoomed as much as I could with my phone. My husband was encouraging me to wade in to get a closer look. 😂

You might want to investigate your hubby's motives.
It's not a duck but almost as good. I would like a closer look too.

@loribmt, @jakedduck1 @ess77 : OMG, Lori. Be careful out there. Those critters can move really fast. Looks like he's smiling at your husband's suggestion to wade in for a closer look. 🤣
(You first, Rick!) 😊
