That is a very interesting question, and made me curious because I have been taking it for some time, even though my blood pressure is "marginal" because I have a strong multi-generational pattern of heart disease in both my parent's families, but no personal history or other risk factors like smoking, diabetes or weight. My primary provider called it the "medication of choice" for people like me.

Here is what the research shows about atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4253768/#:~:text=development%20of%20

And I was surprised to learn that Losartan was originally heralded as a potential treatment for some heart diseases, and has been used to treat a number of conditions over the years, as described in this article from the VA: https://www.pbm.va.gov/PBM/vacenterformedicationsafety/nationalpbmcommunication/ANGIOTENSINIIRECEPTORANTAGONISTSHFTARGETDOSENATIONALPBMCOMMUNICATION103111FINAL.PDF and here: https://www.futuremedicine.com/doi/pdf/10.2217/14796678.1.4.433

Does this help you? Can you tell me a little about what led you to ask the question?
Sue
