Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) - Introduce yourself and meet others

Let's talk about living with rheumatoid arthritis.
As moderator of the Autoimmune Diseases group, I noticed that several people were talking about RA, but those conversations were scattered throughout the community. I thought I would start this discussion to bring us all together in one place.

Let’s grab a cup of tea, or beverage of choice, and let's chat. Why not start by introducing yourself?

Hey, @peach414144 Nice to hear from you again! Sounds like things are more positive for you. How long have you been on the hydroxychloroquin?

Hi Becky, I have been on Hydroxy since about March 2021. On the tumeric and honey since June 2021. The inflammation was so bad that I could not bend and had my blood pressure hitting the ceiling. I was waiting to die. I am sure that both the RA and Psa were kicking up at the same time. This could be coincidental but I am sure it is the hydroxychloriquin that is the angel.

One more item: Let us not forget that everything our bodies consume must go through the kidneys. I was on methotrexate which did keep all the horrible symptoms away but my kidneys have been seriously affected now. So here we go again with a trip to the moon and back.

I do not think I should write this but here goes: Just got a phone call from the doctors office. I have a mass in my urine bladder. Have been complainng for about three or four years of much pain urinating, constant urinating, sepsis etc. I had to go out of my county because as I have said before "It seems to me that the doctors here where I live are .........! Now need more procedure tests to confirm the exact (cancer) as they think it is. And then "Whatever". Don't worry at this time I am still smiling. At least I now know why the symptoms, the pain and the worry. Do not feel sorry for me as I am 84 years of age. What we should worry about is what is happening to the medical profession. (I still continue to respect the doctors as I think the problem is political.)

Oh @peach414144 That diagnosis is so difficult to hear. My mother got a diagnosis of a tumor just outside her bladder when she was 95. She felt that she wouldn’t be able to tolerate the chemotherapy so went with daily radiation. We just celebrated her 98th birthday!
What made the doctors suddenly listen to you? Have they proposed a treatment plan?

I don’t care where the problem is healthcare needs to get fixed. Every dr I’ve seen ER Urgent Care say why are you here. My doctor sent me cause it’s after business hours and they don’t work past 5. All the emergency people have asked why I came there the can’t help me without even looking at me. Heroes my xxxx. Sorry. Just got back from ER again. My hands are locked up with razor blades cutting into every tip of finger and thumb. I’m on fire internally but temp is normal. No help. Can barely walk can’t turn handles or open frig or bottles. My heart is starting to skip beats. I will die in bed and the sad thing is no one will be coached on patient care or advocacy.

Hi Becky darlin: What made the doctors suddenly listen to me? I traveled into another county with different doctors. They set me up for a test that I had about a year ago. But this time there was a technician who operated the device that was inserted into me; and not just left within me with no one in th room. Did you ever? And to think Medicare paid for the original test. This was originally done with a licensed gynecologist. Was he really? Notice I am not naming the doctor. What really bothers me is that the nephrologist would not listen to me, Kept putting me off with appointments and would not answer any questions and neither did his assistant. Also could not go to another nephrologist as this group is a monopoly for and in my county. I finally went into debt by traveling into this other county. I am to old to make a move at age 84. Why should I not have the same advantage as others to die a more peaceful and pain free as possible? I am not just saying this for me. I am speaking for the others who are in the same position as myself.
And to be more specific, there is much more to this story of mine and I am sure of the many others. I want to thank those who care and pray for a change in education and attitude. LOVE

Soooo, commonplace. This means that I am not the only one, What has happened to me is that my thoughts are correct. Attitude, politics and being taught this way. What has happened to compassion, caring and all that goes with it? I cannot continue or the thought police will come for me.
Take this as a joke????? I did not write this,.

Hello I am still waiting for my October 1 appointment with my rheumatologist. I have never had these symptoms before at all and just acquired them this year starting end of April. My primary care doctor currently put me on prednisone, low-dose it seems to help. Would love more information.
