Thanks Colleen and GInger! I was looking in the wrong place.
I participate in a half dozen or so forums, and each one has its quirks.
I'm getting daily e-mails now, so that helps a lot finding first unread.

Is it appropriate for me to
ask a question about Neuropathy?
Hi Greyghost, you will find discussions about neuropathy here:
- Neuropathy Group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/neuropathy/

1️⃣ Is it possible to turn off the advertisement that pops up all the time. I think it’s about joining mayo clinic connect. Once in a while is not bad it's a bit overactive.
2️⃣ Any idea when then search will be fixed??
3️⃣ What is the purpose of restricting the edit feature? Why not let everyone use it anytime. Other forums I've been on didn't have such restrictions.
Jake
Good questions.
1. The pop-up should only appear if you're not signed in. What device do you use? An iPhone, Android, tablet or computer?
2. Search works, but will be optimized. The upgrade is coming later this year.
3. The edit feature is available for 30 minutes after posting. Edit requests after the time period has expired can be submitted using this form https://connect.mayoclinic.org/contact-a-community-moderator/ I'm happy to oblige.
@colleenyoung
Perhaps I don’t know how to use the search properly but I put in a 3 word phrase from a new post from today and it didn’t come up. then I entered only 2 words which were in the post and 3,900 possibilities came up but not the one posted today or at least on the first few pages

Hi Jake @jakedduck1 - I'm wondering if you are using the discussion search box vs the search all of Connect search box? The discussion search box just above the list of discussions on your Connect home page (click Mayo Clinic Connect at the top left part of the window) returns a list of discussions if the words or phrase you typed in the box are found in a discussion title. The search all of Connect returns a list of posts and discussions where the words or phrase is found.
@johnbishop
No, I was using the Search all one but I don't understand why it shows one place & not the other??? I guess more refinements are being worked on.

@colleenyoung, @johnbishop et al. Question: I still don't have the followed groups shown on the home page. They disappeared several months ago and I haven' t been able to get them back. I just skip that, ck the daily digest in my email each day and them use the notifications bell to go through each message that way. don't know what I did to 'erase' the followed groups from the home page, but whatever, it worked quite well. They're gone!
Also, if someone wants to take the time, I still need advice on getting photos taken on my android galaxy phone, I think it's a 20? I'm chatting with a friend re getting a real little camera or figuring out how to use one I have. We'll see, but do need to know how to post it on the connect site. I really want to share some of my decent pics of flowers and birds, etc.
Thanks, folks. You're he best for sure. Bless you....elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth @ess77, Here's step-by-step instructions from the Get Started on Connect guide on how to get your groups back that you were following before the switch-over. --- https://connect.mayoclinic.org/get-started-on-connect/#follow-a-group
Uploading photos from an android phone to a post on Connect - Are you using the android phone to read and post on Connect also? If so, you just need to select the Add Photo/Files under a post and then tap in the area on Drop files here or click to upload, which should let you select the photos from the photo gallery on the android phone. If you are using a computer for Connect, you can email the photos to yourself and download them from your email on the computer so that you can select them when you are posting on Connect. Clear as mud, right? If I had an android phone I could take some screen shots and help you. Maybe some kind hearted soul reading this that uses and android phone could post a few screenshots of the steps 🙃
