High Coronary Calcium Score: How do others feel emotionally?
I have a calcium score of 1,950 which is extremely high which means I am at a very high risk for a cardiac event, heart attack, stroke or sudden death.
I take a statin and baby aspirin. I have never been sick, have excellent cholesterol, low blood pressure and I am not overweight. I have no other health problems and I have never been sick. But I feel like a walking time bomb which has caused me a lot of stress. I am 70 yrs old.
I wonder how others with this condition feel emotionally?

I am 50 and mine came back at 444, I am trying to make lifestyle changes and suppress the fear.
Read END OF HEART DISEASE by Joel Fuhrman,MD and do NOT live in fear. We ALL only have today...go enjoy.
I am 50 and an athlete and mine just came back at 407... floored, shocked, uncertain of how to handle this. Now every twinge (and there are a lot of twinges at 50) feels like a heart attack symptom. Going for a stress test later this week and then who knows.... scared to death of both the possibility of suddenly dropping dead and of open heart surgery... sorry for the rambling, my head is still spinning ...
Do you have low blood pressure after running or whatever your athletic mode is? I have exercise-induced low bp and am trying to see if anyone else does. It's been as low as 63/43 after walking my dog on the land, which is scary. I have yet to go to a cardiologist, but my stress test last winter looked good for a 74-year old woman! Good luck! Hope it goes well!
I have not ever noticed that no. But I haven’t ever specifically looked. And I’ve been scared to exercise since my calcium scan 🙁
So sorry. Is your calcium high? Is there something you can do diet and supplement wise? I have a paradoxical reaction to pharmaceuticals, so I am concerned about going to a cardiologist who will insist on putting me on drugs that I will no doubt react to. I have been successful, however, changing my diet and taking natural supplements that have helped me greatly. Good luck!
Thank you! Yes, my calcium is super high for my age
Stress is the worst thing! It's what gave me shingles six years ago, resulting in facial neuralgia to this day! Thing is, I was doing everything I loved, but it was just TOO MUCH for this body. I had to STOP everything.
I too am feeling the stress mounting over this too low blood pressure thing. But if I do my morning yoga, a lot of deep breathing, and meditation, I DO feel better! I just find so many other things to take precedence, and that's downright silly. We ALL need to put our bodies and our hearts FIRST!
Calcified coronary arteries are not connected with dietary calcium or blood levels of clcium.
I am 70 and just received score of 501 on cardio scan. I am also in wonderful shape, do aerobic exercises and am 6' tall and weigh 165 pounds. What might be paths for treatment? Thanks. Mumbles
