Please help with sleep problems.

@0616 I’m really sorry to hear that you have sleeping problems. So did I until I got some help. This information from Mayo Clinic is pretty much what I did. I had to make a lot of changes, but eventually it worked.

Have you discussed this with your doctor to make sure you haven’t any problems? Give it a try!

Hi @0616, I added your message to the Sleep Health group as well as the Aging Well group. I noticed that you mentioned in another discussion that you have sleep disturbances. Can you describe what disturbs your sleep? Do you fall asleep but sleep is interrupted?

I sometimes can fall asleep as soon as I go to bed. However, either disturbing dreams or having to use the bathroom do wake me. From then on I am awake for the rest of the night. During the day I find I have no energy even for the one hobby I love best which is gardening.

Hi @lydiaburger, Welcome to Connect. You mentioned having the same problems sleeping as @0616. Have either of you been tested for sleep apnea? It can be the reason for no energy or fatigue during the day. Here is a little information on sleep apnea.

@0616,Hi I m someone that has sleep apnea and wanted to add that I really did't think much about it until my Wife noticed that I would have these breathing issues at night while sleeping and suggested i get it checked. Well that was about 7 years ago and I did have it once they did a sleep study. So i would suggest having one done it will really help if that is the issue. I now wear a CPAP machine at night and i sleep much better. Lets us know how things turn out.

Have a Blessed Day
Dana

My husband has severe neuropathy in his feet due to diabetes. He take 2 Gabapentin before bed and he still can't get to sleep until midnight. Then he is awake every hour. Any ideas on what he needs to do? I am very worried about him. He doesn't want to see his PC because of Covid 19. Thank you for your help.

@jmb73, Sorry to hear your husband is having trouble sleeping due to the neuropathy pain in his feet. Is his diabetes under control? Here is an article that you may find helpful.

Would it help to call the doctor's office or medical facility and ask them what precautions they are taking for patient appointments with the current COVID-19 situation, then share it with your husband to hopefully alleviate his concern? I've had several appointments now at Mayo Clinic and they really go the extra mile in protecting their patients and employees. Everyone must wear a mask and be screened for COVID-19 by taking their temperature and asking related questions.
