Pernicious Anemia and B12 Ranges

Posted by bumble81 @bumble81, Sep 18, 2019

I was diagnosed in 2015. Do any of you with PA still have symptoms related to your PA even when your B12 levels are in normal ranges? I was under the impression that getting B12 shots would eliminate any issues caused by PA.

what can help pantypacemia anemia? It just gets worse. Less cells as aging happens even though I see an oncologist. Maybe once a year a b12 shot, once a year a drip of ferretin. Nothing helps the fatigue. I seem to have so very many medical problems. I guess because of this. It affects the entire body. (Just feeling sorry for myself again). But the Psoriatic and rheumatoid arthtitis are swelling the legs and the chronic venus insufficiency is swelling at the same time. The doctors are confused. I would be to if I were one of them. How to treat when this is going on? About almost two years now. It would be easy to give up. But I keep fighting. The pain is unbelievable. Worry for the cat a d dog keeps me going. It is just as if they are my children and I live for their welfare. Opiods are worthless for the pain. 4 advils help somewhat. Ahhhh, the will to live is so terribly strong. Sorry to disturb anyone but writing this seems to help the mind somewhat. Of course I think of wanting to die to rid the pain. I think it can be a natural thing. The doctors laugh if i bring up the pain pump. Being 82 and having more painful health problems are not enough for the pump I am told. So here we are. I do thank all of you for your time and understanding. One last ting: One of my conditions is I am legally blinf and cotinuing to lose the rest of my sight slowly. This would be the last straw. Again, I am not ready yet but who knows? Who could have the will power, the guts Not yet. to actually pull the trigger?

Hi Peach @peach414144 -- Never heard of that type of anemia? Sorry to hear you haven't found anything for the fatigue. It may not help the fatigue but sometimes a piece of dark chocolate helps the soul. Hoping you find a way to get some energy along with some relief for the pain.

Can chocolate be good for my health?

Thank you John. Ah yes, I do love the dark chocolate especially with liquid cranberry inside and cold from the refrigerator. This anemia has insufficient cells in the blood needed to feed the body. White cells and all of the other cells. Of course I have spelled it incorrectly and I just do not want to look it up now as I am getting ready to just lie down for the night. Big day tomorrow as physical therapy is waiting for my legs. Therapy gives me a reason to continue on. Maybe it will help some. Must continue to have hope. Just heard: Stents in the leg veins for vascular insufficiency. Wow! Hope? Here I am Going for arterial and venus doppler tests next month. Good but why must we wait so long for the testing? So hope will be served with dinner tonight. John, you are a caring person to listen to all the ailments from the many of us; especially with all your problems. I am grateful for your time and caring as I am sure the rest of us do. You seem to allways be there for us. Thank you again. peach barbara

Hi Peach,
I admire your determination and persistence in all you are going through. I just got more bad news today about my blood marrow biopsy. I also have CIPO, Sjogren's and other autoimmune diseases. I have no idea what else is in store for me. It's hard not to become discouraged. I don't know why the doctors would not give you a pain pump if you are in that much pain. I hope things improve for you. Elaine

Thank you for caring. I also have Sjogrens and rheumatoid arthritis, and, and, and. (Long list). Perhaps we have to many people on this planet and if we do not stop the polluting of this planet we are killing ourselves as well as this magnificant planet. (And the horrendus treatment of the wild animals for greed, etc. It is disgusting. Where has our goodness gone? Keep up the love some how.

Hi Peach @peach414144 -- Pancytopenia is a condition that occurs when a person has low counts for all three types of blood cells: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Has your doctor suggested any treatment?

@peach414144 Good morning. We are all volunteers here and no one is knowledgeable enough to give you medical advice. You say that you are seeing an oncologist. That’s good. What is your treatment plan? Any medications? I would encourage you to ask your doctor about the seriousness of your disease. Will you do that? And, let us know what you are told.
