Yes life is worth living
I have a similar situation and I guess I’d have to say that there is a time when life isn’t always worth tolerating the intolerable. All of the well meaning therapy and encouragement is just talk.
Hi, @kalo37, and welcome to Connect, @primghar. I can imagine that experiencing chronic pain is a downer and can sometimes make you wonder if life is worth tolerating the intolerable.
I'd like to introduce you to @jimhd @artscaping @rwinney @zorrospouse @tigreyes2004 @mlross4508, who may have some input on the pain you're enduring and how it's making you feel.
kalo37 - will you share more about the pain you are experiencing? primghar, are you experiencing what you'd call intolerable pain currently?
@kalo37 Yes, life is worth living. We have some moments when it may seem like it doesn't, though, don't we? Have you thought about setting a timer to help remind you that you need to take a medication? My husband does that for his medication times, otherwise he may not remember. Can you give that a try?

I will hang in there, as they say. Pain severe in my knee and often in my shoulder. I am a pro active person so always seeking relief in some way from any disadvantages. lots of rest.
Hi
I have the same problem. I have the chronic pain in my feet & legs. I am on Cymbalta . They first started me out on 30 mg & I took it for 4 weeks & no improvement so they put me on 60mg & I have been on it for a week & still no improvement . I am home most of the time because of the pain. I understand what your going through. I guess we have to try different medications to see what works. I bought cream for the legs & that don't help either. I am also a Senior & am dealing with chronic pelvic adhesions so my life is pain. Try to stay busy if you can & I soak my feet in hot water & that helps for awhile. I am hoping this medicine will kick in. Has anyone had good results on Cymbalta? Best of luck to you.
I think once you get over 60 the health care delivery system look at you in a different way. I’ve done most of the pain drugs, done a pain clinic had the facet point injections, done the CBT reframe your thinking” routine, had endless rounds of PT and the list goes on. Mayo has great “programs” I’d you can afford them and live around Rochester, but in flyover country you’re pretty much on your own. I’ve pretty much had to go the drugs route, which is apparently taboo as it’s the “opioid crisis”. But as to pain, you do what you can do and assess your options. Despite what some learned Ph.D has to say, it’s your life.
@kalo37 I hear your pain we all have it one way or the other for us seniors I look at pain this way. While we where young and raising out family working we kept busy by being very active. Now we are retired so God has a sense of humor he gave us pain and our problems to keep us company. lol Seriously keep active when I don't feel like exercising I push myself and feel better after I do So don't let pain win. We are pain warriors all of us . Keep trucking
Hey! Thank you for your kind words and understanding....Pain warriors; I like that as I have always been a fighter.
In 36 with this pain it can be discouraging
